Here I show you my way of how I train the descends on technical terrain. This doesn't mean that it is the only one, but it is mine. Under my humble point of view, the descents have to be trained and every good trail runner should do it. It is also true and I forgot to mention it in the video, that you have to have control and measurement going down. You must not exceed your posibilities because you run a great risk of falling and hurting yourself. If you are in a race, you must judge whether it is feasible to press on the descent or reserve energy for later. Finally ... as you will see, there are multiple possibilities and you are the one who must put them into practice. I hope you like the video.
