Rock 'n' Roll Chaos! Love it. Bolan looks like he hasn't slept in a year, tambourines are abused and used to play guitar solo's, the back-up singers are enthusiastic to the point of speaking in tongues. This is magic. Never tire of it.

Don't you mean her(s) oh yeah I see him now. I'm enjoying the live performance, although I find the backup singers are a little bit overwhelming. Backup singers should never be louder than the lead singer and Marc Bolan's voice on this song is so like sensuous, sexy. Ok now he's getting down to the bone! Yeah this is a keeper for the live performance (3rd one I've checked out right now, one was a live video someone added a background effects to and dubbed the studio audio, according to the KZitem info on the song, I didn't watch the whole thing) The other one T. Rex sounded better but Marc Bolan's performance here is way cool. I still wanna hear the studio version, audio is good enough.

Thank you so much for everything. fernando j. soria castro

My very first of well over a thousand shows I saw T Rex, fronting Three Dog Night. Bolan set his guitar up against a marshal stack and played his solo to this song with a bullwhip, whopping that Les Paul all the while the black girl background singers wailing, smoke shooting up from everywhere and near total chaos around the stage. I left saying out loud to all my friends, that, right there, is what I wanna do for a living. And I did for many years, nowhere famous but full of piss and vinegar and fun as hell. Thanks for the inspiration Mr. Boland.

@gabby8103
7 жыл бұрын
Yeah.true. But I lived through this and there are plenty of other live recordings of this song, FAR SUPERIOR. The 2 black women were no asset. They RUINED IT and the band. Gloria Jones was Bolan's girlfriend, ousting his beautiful wife June. Gloria was loud, always really off her face, cocaine,speed,etc with a screeching voice like a Banshee. That screeching destroys the song/music. The other off her face woman was just as bad. AND UGLY. Grotesque dancing, utterly tasteless. They were big, loud and domineering. Gloria was there simply because she was Marc's girlfriend. You hardly see the gorgeous and patient Mickey Finn after the Banshee arrived...........Mickey Finn WAS A MAJOR PART OF THE REAL T REX and here he's almost just an add on. I mean he was awesome, stunning, beautiful. It.was.all downhill from here, Mickey left in 74. Currie not long after. Mickey and Marc had a blue when Mickey hurt his hand and couldn't play bongos for a few nights and Marc lost it and even kicked him. No more Mickey. Gloria brought in an element of too much brain fry drugs. I mean it was always there, but it drastically increased. Some say she was the Yoko Ono of T Rex. Destroyed it. What did he see in her????? God, look at her, the chin would hit you before you even got close. Then she drove their mini, off her face, into a bloody tree. Made sure she finished the job properly. Shit.

My buddy and I went down this ungroomed trail in the woods called “Moose”, and let me tell you…it was rough. The snow was waist high and we are both near 6’ tall. We couldn’t stay upright we kept getting caught in the snow. At one point I was face down in 3’ of heavenly, white bliss after a bad spill. Even then, I was nowhere in as deep of that white powder as this entire band is during this performance. Truly awesome to watch.

There is SO much going on on that stage, I get lost. Marc Bolan at his finest! I do miss the B-3 with dual leslies. Too early for both Bowie or Elton. All that was missing was a Voodoo Priest.....

World was a different place back then,no social media,no super hero movies and no fake woke nonsense (for the most part I would assume) and yet people had this raw energy for pure kick ass rock n roll. Some things just never get old ❤

I may be mistaken, I do believe the young lady in red is Marc Bolen's baby Mama and Love of His Life Gloria Jones! Dressed the same and first "your my girl" he smiles quickly as he glances back at her! Rolan, their beautiful son should be Over The Top! Rock and Roll at it's Finest!

@@Bruno-ck4hl - I guess of the songs that I have played endlessly since I was a teenager Bang A Gong is probably #1 most played. The remaining 4 might be Van Halen - Dance the Night Away, The Knack "Oh Tara", Dio "Caught in the Middle" and Duran Duran "Hungry Like the Wolf"

Bolan was a bit egotistical. He said when he died, he new god would dig him. He died a few days later in the car accident.

Chris Mason The glitter scene was big and certainly had an influence, but KISS tried it and were too tall and husky to pull it off, so they went with all black and silver and looked more toward Alice Cooper for aesthetic inspiration. They thought four Alice Cooper-type band members would be more exciting than one.
