Given that you sell this exact gas tank in your shop, I suspect, we're nearly there. Is this correct? When can we expect a new kit sold with a bigger tank?

I think you get the possibility to install a Roadbook holder. But I dont understand why they dont have a small Kit with just the Rally Tower in it without the side Panels. 1900$ is way too much for the ability to mount a Roadbook holder.

@A1 Media There are multiple benefits. 1. All the flexibility that there is with the OEM plastic frame is eliminated, allowing you to either add multiple units (you can add for example 2 GPS units and still keep the OEM instrument) without worries regarding vibration. The solid structure allows the light pattern also not to ''vibrate'' . 2. Ergonomics. As you mentioned, standing and sitting can both be at the optimum angle, something that the OEM does not allow. 3. Possible to put a full navigational setup, and still keep the OEM instrument. 4. Easier access and maintenance. You can remove one side with 3-4 bolts, instead of the complex system that the OEM has. This allows for quicker services, both during regular maintenance, but also during races or if it just cleaning/self maintenance that people do. 5. Better adjustability of the light. The light structure is easier to point in the right direction only using one bolt. We found that the OEM did not have enough range, hence it is now extended. 6. Better protection of the tank during a crash/fall. The side panels will protect the tank which is prone to damage during a low side. We hope that makes sense, Thanks for your comments!
@aurorarallyequipment

@@Sledgehammer123456 - It's next to impossible to create what you describe. The OEM structure is not stiff enough, and the OEM structure is so compact that it does not allow you to have proper space without the bars hitting the instruments. That is why in the OEM the speedo is so ''deep'' in the structure. Also, keeping the plastic structure, with a stiff tower, during a crash will result in the plastic structure to be damaged first (been there during the test phase). And these big, side plastics (I mean the internal structure, not the fairings) of Yamaha will be (1) difficult to get in time and (2) difficult to carry as spares. What can be done to the OEM structure? You can patch it, but unless you change it in total, chances are that you will create more issues. Only stiffeners can assist, but up to a point. Then the glass reinforced plastic will crack...

And what is the purpose of this upgrade. Will it make the bike lighter?
@aurorarallyequipment
3 жыл бұрын
To make the bike lighter, especially the T7, is only possible if you remove things. The light being one of them, which is 2.5 kilograms. The rest is plastic, and we all know the weight of a plastic part compared to Aluminium. To that end, getting that kit which is full CNC parts to be the same weight as the OEM setup is a true marvel, because you improve all the areas of an adventure bike, without compromising on weight. Drop the light to put a Baja Designs on and you are 2kg lighter. (all other kits, add parts, hence add weight - to date there is no rally kit for the T7 which is lighter than the stock bike, and keeping the light structure). The benefits are multiple, but depends on how you use the bike. The large space allows you to place the OEM speedo in a better position alongside a GPS or a mobile phone for both sitting and standing position. Even Nav gear for that matter in a safe for the rider position. Ergonomics in that area are vastly improved. Then, should you want two gps units or a mobile phone and a GPS, you can move the speedo to the handlebars and install them. Installation of a carpe iter or a 10 inch tablet also possible, or nav gear for the hard-core. Tower is rock solid, and you get improved protection both on the top and on the legs due to the different screen position and side panels. Protection of the radiator is improved and the tank is now fully protected. You can now undress the bike with undoing 4 bolts per side, instead of 22 that the OEM parts have. Something that will be appreciated during service, cleaning or racing. The tower has enough space to put powerbanks etc. And it will house everything without complaining. Hence the CNC parts on the tower have a lifetime warranty. To the above you can add the upcoming high fender and skid plate, rear tanks and exhaust and build an adventure weapon.

Although this is the installation video, you can follow our T700 webpage (aurora-rally.com/t700-2/ ) and see the details of what this kits add. @@aurorarallyequipment Hi there. Looks like excellent engineering but everything you suggest above fits on the stock bike just fine. The navigaton bar works great to hold GPS gear.
