My first visit to your channel. Thank you for sharing. I garden in northcentral Indiana and adore my conifers. I will keep watching. Thank you again.

Thanks for watching! I have a bunch of other videos if you're looking for info on a particular species... check out my channel for those. Also, what's the rarest conifer in your collection?

Oh, so sorry about that little pine. I saw your other video when you got it. I was hoping you would have been able to do an air layer and get it on it’s own roots. I am amazed about your knowledge and I’m learning from you. I still have more of your videos to watch and I’m also going to not use that nursery you warned us about.

Thanks for the update! In northeast Ohio, planted eastern white pines struggle where the top soil is removed and they are growing directly in compacted clay soil or exposed to road salt and pollution. They thrive along the shoreline of Lake Erie and don't seem to have any problems with our current climate!

Good intel. I agree the soil & root conditions play a huge role in determining the longevity of white pine.

Yes, the foliage is similar! The growth pattern & tree structures are noticeably different though.

It is such a neat pine! Too bad it's highly susceptible to pine wilt nematode.

I think that one pine died to the roots getting baked from the heat, I usually try to avoid black pots with pines or any conifers real;ly fopr that specific reason.

Good point, but i had the pot hidden from the sun and shaded by some other larger pots for that very reason. Also, as a control group, it was right next to several other conifers kept in the same conditions and watered with the same frequency. Plus, it was in a spot that gest shaded by 2:00PM every day - so not all day full sun. A mystery!

@@moseseisley557 hmm, unless the poor graft had a play in it too, it does seem there was sap leaking out or at least dried sap that had leaded out so maybe the tree couldn't get adequate flow up to the top even with extra watering. honestly its a mystery we will never fully know the answer to though.

@@johnmichaelrutherford3514 I think your theory about the poor graft has a lot of merit.

@@moseseisley557 yeah me too, I'm just surprised how quickly it killed the tree, typically it takes years for them to fail. if I where you id definitely give a bad review at least and even maybe see if you can get a refund.

I was analysing your KZitem channel. You make nice videos on your channel, I really enjoyed it. I noticed one thing: according to your channel, your channel videos are not viewed and subscribed. You Need to optimise your channel and do video SEO to reach your target audience. Otherwise, if you upload videos to your channel throughout the year, none of your videos will get viral views. If your channel is optimised and if the videos are SEO then your channel will rank very fast and your channel will grow. And monetization of your channel will be on.

Thanks for the tips! Honestly, i'm not really trying to make youtube a source of income. I'm more interested in putting some information out there for other growers since many of the subjects (and species) i'm covering are not discussed by anyone else. My videos appeal to a very niche sub-set of gardeners focused on growing evergreens in the southeast US.
