You Know what else is killer for Wahoo, those old Luhr Jensen Crocodiles, 5 tom 7 oz. (if you can find them, there out there though) and you don't have to crank super fast. They're deadly.

They do work great! Unfortunately, they have not been made in the heavier sizes for years, and do take some good detective work to locate.

Mr. Carson, do you replace the stock tady 4/0 hook? If yes, what do you recommend as the replacement? Thank you.

For yellowtail and most species, the stock hook is just fine. If it so happens that larger grade tuna over 100 pounds are the quarry, then I do change to a heavy 8/0 single hook; usually the Owner open-eye Siwash. Some tackle shops do sell the 4/0 models with the heavy single hooks already attached.

Good day, Mr. Carson. Caught my first yellowtail last week using your technique. Thank you for sharing your knowledge. Colonel Stephen Mitchell.
