@@DaleFarm yes he is inside your head and heart. In time the amount of time, he is actively inside your head talking to you will lessen but he will always be in your heart, your love for him will keep him there. Other people will enter your heart, you might have children, maybe grandchildren. They will each have a place in your heart and yet not one of them will take dad's place. I think it's like time-sharing, each in their turn will have a period, short or long when they are uppermost in your thoughts, and then someone else will have a turn. Does any of this mean you will love dad less? No, in fact, I think more. As each has their turn they are full-on, you may not know what is happening just you are thinking of whoever is top a little more at this moment, then someone else's turn. Is this a fact? I don't know, just this is how it seems to be in me. I don't love mum less than dad, but she passed a few years ago, and how I think of her has changed. At first, she was almost every waking moment, now I seem to think of her at different times, like now. She is strong in my mind and Gill isn't as strong as she was 5 minutes ago. Does that mean I love or miss Gill less than 5 minutes ago? No, it just means someone else seems to be taking a turn. What about the living? Yes they have their place on that list, as Nick does on yours, and your mum, and sisters, and, and... This is never easy, and we are all different, how we remember each person, here or gone is different for each of them. Your sisters will grieve dad totally different to how you do, less? No, just different. Is that good or bad? Neither, it just is how it is. So yes time will change how it is, that does seem to be the same for us all. When you dream of dad it's your brain using your memories of him to answer questions on your mind about the work tomorrow. Or something was said or done that day that has set off a response in you that ends up in your dream. Enough of my sermonising, It's 5am and I should be asleep, just the pain is bad tonight. Don't I just love arthritis? NO!!! So some more opiates and maybe another video while they get into my bloodstream. Stay safe dear lady, Steve xx...

Hiya to you both, A great video as always, thank you. Wow, talk about the sound level being high? No wonder all you wanted was silence! I was told that the worst of missing someone was a year and a day, to get through all the anniversaries, it can be longer, than that. Whenever I think of my Gill the pain hits, but she was my lover, not my parent. It was six and a half years ago. So different people, different feelings. I did a 'Bereavement and Loss' counselling course ten years ago, maybe more, and I learned there are as many ways of grieving as there are people lost. Everyone is different, as it should be. So you are right to miss dad, for as long as your heart wants, till there is some easing. Again that flock knows their shepherdess, running to your cry of, 'Cumon!' Plus of cause, your pets coming for a stroke and to show off their young. Loved your commentary on the newly shaun nosing around. Stay safe, Steve...

Hey Steve thank you for sharing your thoughts and experiences with me. At the moment it feels as though there is a huge void, an emptiness in my world . And I don’t think anything can ever fill it. It won’t ever be filled in. So I have to learn how to live with the emptiness. And that’s hard and it takes effort and it’s exhausting. And I’m sure you know all of this!!! But there are moments where it’s less intense ..: and moments where it’s so overwhelming I feel paralysed and cannot do anything until it has passed . X
@stephencoster9532
2 жыл бұрын
@@DaleFarm that emptiness never goes, if you are lucky, and most people are the pain does diminish to the point where it no longer controls, it can be more like a pleasant feeling. That's where I am with my dad, he passed in March last year so I've been through the year and a day, and now when he springs to mind it's a nudge in my thinking. How would he do this? Or I bet he's watching and laughing at me. Distance in time can indeed bring a lessening of the sharpness of the pain, almost like new skin growing over a cut, it itches for ages, then less and less as you heal. It is a process rather that an event. Time can be the great healer, but only time can do that, and you have to wait and suffer through the process. No shortcuts and I don't want one. What, why? I believe Gill deserves her time in my mind and heart now she has passed the same as she took time in life to grow on me. I need time to change to be the new me without her by my side, only in my heart. I guess what I'm saying is that the grief is more the more we loved, it's proof of our love. Do you ever get mad at him for going and leaving you on your own to cope without him? I do with Gill, still, but it is getting less, time is healing, but in its own time. Stay safe dear lady, Steve x...

Don't they make shearing look easy! I've never done it and my mates son makes it look so (I wouldn't even try it at 78 with a dodgy back even though I've got the chance). The lambs are looking really good so the lads appear to have done the business. Take care xx

Poor Mabel she was getting up in age so wasn't she you need to learn how to share I bet those people were tired and the sheep looked so vulnerable without their wool but I imagine it is cooler it is the 16th of June and Atlanta Georgia it is 93° for the heat index of 105 cheers 👌🐝😁

there are companies in the UK and around the world that are turning wool that is now worth nothing into wool pellets for use in the garden - full of minerals and once you have watered the garden or pots you don't normally have to water again for another week - lots of vlogs on youtube if you put in wool sheep pellets - might be a good place to sell you wool

Hi Joanna. You've been dreaming about your dad and you got those beams of light shining down at 11:04. A sign you are doing okay to balance out the sad moments (I almost heard a choir). I adore these insights about your farm and what's involved. Many smiles from down south. 🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻

Very busy day for you all. Its done for another year. Did you get some quiet time after t day of noisy electric cutters. Lambs were all pleased to see their mums after. Take care x x

Oh I was definitely ready for some quiet time! The day after was much more relaxed and quiet! Nick has been doing a wall and gateway so that’s been good! And the campsite is busy so that makes sure we don’t get much down time!

Shearing time is always interesting to me. We raise Katahdin hair sheep. They shed like a dog and do not require shearing. Much easier on an old lady like me.

The one I filmed was Doris and she’s a pet and they are notoriously awkward compared to ewes that haven’t been pampered!

A hot day for all concerned. Do shearers suffer any particular back problems? Also, how many sheep do you have on the farm now?

You want the sheep off grass for at least 12 hours before you shear them, easier for the shearer, and reduces the risk of heart attacks of the sheep while on the board, bad for man and beast bringing them straight in off the paddock

We got them in at 4pm we started shearing about 6:30 They get very restless and become more difficult to work with the longer they are off the grass. I’m doing it the way my dad always did it.
