I think "take the long tack first" is not the best phrase to deliver this message. I suggest "take the favored (or lifted) tack first" "Long tack" requires the understanding of hypothetical 2 tacks to the mark, one being long and the other being short. the "favored tack" or "Lifted tack" concept is simpler and better focused on lifts, which is what the game is all about. Also It would be good if you could do a version of this with an Open BIC hull

Yes, as a newbie, rc yacht sailor, I found this just hopelessly confusing. I think you need somebody to redo this with English as their first language.

Hi Bruce, "long tack" and "lifted tack" are two different things. Check this article: sailzing.com/sail-the-long-tack/?cn-reloaded=1

Hi @@boikie , my contribution to the discussions of long, short or lifted is "Geometry", these are simulations of geometric paths drawn in "TacticalSailing.com". See new video clips on "Switch Point". kzitem.info/news/bejne/o7Cn1al9n4F2nn4 and kzitem.info/news/bejne/u6V8nXebcKuhamU , for examples of long leg and lifted tack.
