TAD have to be the best brand of speakers I've encountered.... and I've heard most of the big names. Raidho are the manufacturer that runs them closest imho.

I recommend to talk in engineering terms, like in other science and engeneering based industries. Those are not zero resonance cabinets. All speaker cabinets leak sound(transmission loss) and have multiple resonance peaks.

Hi Jay, great job once again. Can you possibly sit down again with this gentleman and have him go through a setup in a room using the equipment he has? I'd like to know the app he uses on his phone, and the other machine he mentions. We could then learn the process and get the necessary tech to do a better job in our own rooms. He seems like an encyclopedia of setup info, and it sure would be nice if he could share it. Thank you🙏

TAD makes the ME1(a $17,000 with stands bookshelf speaker now) cabinet, stands and crossover/cables in China. They ship those to their factory in Japan and assemble the speakers with their in house made in Japan drivers. The stands say made in China and the speakers say made in Japan. I view this as false advertising, but countries allow products to be described as made in "blank" if a certain percentage of the product is made there. I have a feeling that this is the same for all of the evolution series speakers, even the new $65,000 GE1. When I asked TAD/Pioneer Japan if the other Evolution line of speakers are made in China the same way, they said "We are not able to disclose all information. We will leave it up to your imagination." It looks like you have to buy a Reference speaker to get a an all made in Japan speaker.

@@steveanon3685 That is nonsense. All cabinets, and technology are made in the TAD section of Pioneer factory. Not sure where you get your info, but I would check these details prior to posting this incorrect information. All of the cabintry is made for TAD in Japan but Tendo, top cabinet and woodworking manufacturer in Japan. That is what is accurate and true. The metal stands maybe made in china but has no affect on quality or performance.

@@DaveMalekpour I wish it was all nonsense Dave and I would be a proud owner of ME1s, but I'm not. I was expecting an all Made In Japan product for the price. Other manufacturers make everything in house, locally or in the same country for the price range TAD speakers are in. My sources: 1. I purchased TAD ME1s with stands not long ago new. 2. The box and stands say Made In China for the ME1s. I'm sure if you take a look at the stands for the CE1TX, it would be the same. 3. The paper manuals for all TAD electronics and speakers are printed in China. 4. I was in direct contact with TAD/Pioneer Japan about this inquiry and they were reluctant to give me this info. They even replied: "We are sorry that we can not disclose more information about products. We are afraid these mislead the market." 5. If you look at the product pages for all the Evolution and Reference pages on the Global/Japan/EU, Tendo Mokko(Japanese furniture company) is only mentioned for the CR1TX and R1TX. 6. The quality of the speaker cabinet(I've looked inside), stands, machined feet and binding posts all point to made in China on the ME1. 7. On the TAD UK/EU site. Every speaker page mentions: "All TAD loudspeakers and their legendary TAD drivers are 100% developed in Japan and custom machined/handcrafted to the strictest specifications." and "100% Made in Japan". 8. Based on my research, TAD electronics are all made in their factory in Japan. Do they source parts from outside of Japan? I don't know this. 9. It looks like the only Evolution series speaker to use Japanese crossover parts like the Reference series has is the GE1? The CE1TX has the upgraded binding posts, but TAD doesn't advertise the quality of the crossovers in it like they do with the 3 higher priced models.

You claim to own the ME1s, so take a look at the back of the speakers: My pair, at least, clearly states 'Made in Japan/Fabrique au Japon'. So why try to create this kind of misinformation 😞? BTW: What I also do not understand (maybe that's some USA thing - I am located in Europe): What's with all the China bashing? Feel free to finally land in the 21st century, the world has changed!

Not many rooms have a big range of position options. Certainly small changes can make a big difference though. Toe in and space around the speaker needs a lot of attention.
