Master Woo, I love the controll you have with your kicks. I realize flexibility is needed for these kicks and I have been working on it. But I notice that your chamber is nice and high also. Please make a video about development of hip strength. A few exercise tips that target those muscle groups. Thanks for your instruction.

Seems like you're just like me :) Side kick with the left foot is executed using bal nal (correct), while right foot is using bal badak (incorrect up to a certain point), naturally. Of course these are controllable with full concentration and I found out the cause is due to small angle of the supporting foot.

do side kicks score every time you make contact with the hogu? i heard that it needs to make a hard impact to score and not a push. is this true?

in WTF sparring, most competitors are almost always facing each other side on (as in the video). this is one my favorite kicks to use cause few people expect it but it's hard to score with. i think jade jones uses this quite a bit

i understand this kick is quite slow and it doesn't work well in sparring but It worked out for me in street fights as it was able to scare my opponents with its agressivenss

kartik pvn before I trained, my instructor would devastate me with front side kicks. Someone who only knows how to box, which is a typical person, a front side kick to the stomach is devastating!

It would be better if you use the 3 base blocks , but if you can duck from a side-kick or something else , it is not bad too

You can punch your opponent in the body but NEVER in the face. They will deduct points from you

Now perhaps this is simply a case that TKD kicking concepts do not translate well to other systems that use kicking, but to me, the idea of using a "Side Kick" against an opponent that is in front of you, makes no sense. I would use a front kick. I would use a side kick against an opponent attacking from my side, and a back kick against an opponent attacking from my rear. I also do not like how the back is turned to the opponent during the execution of this kick.
