Superb. I've been using this tool in a similar way for my style too. Glad you said for people not to push too much, then they will be using more muscle and getting less sensitivity.

When the Jin is manifested and the Qi run through the body freely is not necessary anymore to use any “Li” (muscular force). Thanks for watching

It is a good exercise, Mattia, and I have done a similar one with an exercise ball, in the past. The problem is that there is not much practice of a weight shift backward for Lu/Closing. Regardless, it is a good exercise and you are right to constantly look for new ways to practice things.

the best way will be to build your own training ball, maybe add another ball (heavy) inside the bigger rubber ball. One day I'll manage to make it! Thanks for watching

@Loredana Massini All the members of the tradition that I've followed agreed with the term "rubber" as the definition of "Peng" or PengJin (掤勁) which is the expressed energy from the quality of being "peng". The body must become a Taijiquan-Body and the first step is to alter your current state of the physiological body to a state that you didn't have before. The whole body must express "peng" and with time and specific work (Neigong), the body will be able to express Peng from every part, in any direction without relying on the structure of the bones, muscles or anything physiological. It's the prenatal state of the baby that even when falls from the table it doesn't break a bone, it bounces off. That state could be achieved by proper training and, once well manifested, could be used in combat. In the Taijiquan combat strategy, Peng is the very first thing the opponent will feel so it is quite essential to have it well-developed. The feeling/impression at the moment of contact should be like trying to kick a truck tire. Thanks for watching

Great video. Years ago, I learned these drills from some students of Master Pace. Is that by chance your source as well (just curious)? I notice your front foot is basically on the heel when performing the drill, is there any special reason for that? Anyways, thanks for sharing.

Hi, I don't know M. Peace but if he also using a rubber ball in a similar fashion as me here in this video that makes me happy. The use of training tools It's a common thing in China, check M.Chu Minyi Wu Taijiquan training video in 1935. You can watch also a video I've made about training with a heavy rubber ball 7Kg, It's in the video list. In Wu Taijiquan the front foot must have that position, in the fast execution the tip of the foot will go down but the stance must maintain all the characteristics of when the tip of the foot was lifted. It is to be noted that on the heel there's no weight placed, the specific way to handle the weight in Wu style makes the hips and stance work in a specific geometry. Thanks for watching

@@TaijiquanExplained I really appreciate your response. The Master I was referring to is Gianfranco Pace, and since I assumed (which I know is never a good thing to do) that you were Italian, I thought you might know of him. I am familiar with M Chu Minyi's videos, and wish I could have a set up like that. After I posted my comment, I watched a few of your videos and subscribed. I was not aware of that use of empty stance on Wu style, I mostly practice Yang. I wonder if you have seen Dr Yang Jwing Ming's Tai Chi Ball Chi Kung? You can vary size and weight of the ball for different purposes, you might like. I like your videos, keep them coming please!

I am originally Italian but is over 20 years I've been living in Asia so I wasn't very present on the European scene. Haven't met M.Pace but I'm familiar with Marcello Sidoti who comes here to Bangkok regularly. Dr. Yang Jwing Ming and others used many sorts of "ball" training, and I hope more and more will use Taijiquan tools for their training. We all hope one day to have a Taijiquan gym with Chu Miny taiji training pieces of equipment! Thanks for subscribing!

I understand your confusion. Silk Reeling technique that became popular with a certain kind of modern Chen Taijiquan. What you see here is the actual way of doing TuiShou as for Wu, WuHao, old Yang, Sun and Li style Taijiquan, here in the video is the first movement of the Wu-family-style Taiji Tuishou. Unfortunately the 13 different TuiShou patterns are unknown to anyone who have done only modern Yang or Chen Taijiquan. Thanks for watching

@@TaijiquanExplained you are the one who is confused. This exercjse will ruin your Tui Shou and actually all your Tai Chi. It is, quite frankly, stupid.why ? Ask yourself one simple question: where is rhe root of that silly ball you use ? It is on the height of your nipples. So you exercjse doing Peng (since that is all this.stupid thing is about) on something with the center on the height of your nipples without any Yin or Yang in it because it's just a stupid ball. If you do this exercjse longer you will be destroyed in Tui Shou in seconds.

@@therealmccoy7221 hi there, I said that you are confused because you are. You said that was silk reeling and is not, if you knew some TuiShou you will know the difference. About your comment on the exercise: of course the ball is not the same as a real person (lol) this is an exercise that will very partially test PengJin if you can’t train with a partner (for example during the pandemic). This exercise does not replace the TuiShou with a partner and does not replay even the one in the solo practice, it’s just something in more (I haven’t invented it, in China is very popular with both a rubber ball or a sandbag). About the movement itself, that is the way and height that should be performed, with or without a partner. About me been “destroyed” that is not happening in a very long time. My doors are always open we welcome every week people from any kind of martial arts or sports combat. Thanks for watching
