Today we are continuing our bike tour through the mountains of Taiwan. We woke up by the river and after packing up the campsite we pushed and rode our bikes to the main road. There we met some peach and plum farmers and they let us have a look around their garage. Nice people!
Once we get moving and start making our way up the road, it didn't take long before we stopped again and saw something we wanted to check out. This time it was just a huge tray of garlic that was drying out in the sun. The owners of the house came outside and gave us a little bit of the garlic and then invited us inside for some tea. When we are all chit-chatting (mostly Vanessa because I can't speak Mandarin) a guy we saw last night at the campground came in and we were pretty surprised that this was his house and farm. They were super nice and showed us around, even letting us try out the ropeway cable gondola thingy that they use to get across the river quickly. What an experience! The owner of this farm also makes plum wine and other drinks that he let us try. He calls himself the prince of Lishan! After our wonderful time with them, we get back on the road and ride up to the lovely village of Lishan, and that's where the next video will take place.
