Oh so many thoughts… I would take the merino/cashmere skeins and make cowls with them. I have done several from Curious Handmade (Helen Stewart) and even a free one from purl soho. For the merino/silk blends I would make one skein shawls. I’ve made several of these as they dress up jeans and a tee we’ll and also provide a little warmth when you’re blasted with AC in the summer or in Spring and Fall. Joji Locatelli has some nice ones. I would use the neutrals like John Arbonne, the daisy and the Fibre Optics with other skeins to make two skein projects. I have also striped single skeins in the Stripes! By Andrea Mowry and Flax by TinCanKnits. Finally I do a lot of Musselburgh hats with single skeins for gifts. I alternate these with socks for my on-the-go knitting.

I have just made my first cowl and really enjoyed it so that definitely a good suggestion and i was thinking they might be good Christmas gifts. Also the Musselburgh for gifts as well. i can imagine the Musselburgh would be good for on the got knitting as i think the construction is similiar to the skrabucket im knitting on. I’ve not made many shawls but have just started the peoples shawl which im hoping to use on holiday if I get it done in time. I will have a look at the shawl patterns you have recommended. Thanks for such a lovely lengthy comment xxx
