LMH Health celebrated the recovery for one COVID-19 patient this morning. Scott Bruegge, a Leavenworth County resident, was LMH Health’s first inpatient treated for COVID-19. Mr. Bruegge was admitted to LMH Health on March 25, and his symptoms began to improve in the first week of April. By April 6, he had no COVID-19 symptoms, and he subsequently tested negative for the virus twice. He was removed from isolation, and he has been undergoing therapy to support his recovery.
Mr. Bruegge was met today by staff and providers, all six feet apart and masked, cheering him on as he left the hospital. Since LMH Health is not currently allowing visitors, he was not able to see his wife in person during his inpatient stay. That changed this morning as Shannon Bruegge met her husband outside of LMH Health, and took him home.
