This song by Supertramp captures the pathos of a musician's life as do so many others but this one seems particularly poignant to me, suggesting as it does the inevitable alienation from one's spouse and family that accompanies the career of a rock star, or anyone who spends a great deal of time on the road. A sad, beautiful song about the tension between rock stardom and home life that has shaped the lives of so many great musicians. For this song, I'm just following the standard chords on guitar tabs. I'm playing it in the key of Am which is down from the original, since my vocal range is a bit lower than the original song (you'd have to capo up three frets to hit the original key of Cmin).
