Hi Friends!
This painting demo ended up being a work in progress. It is going to continue into the next video. No surprise there. It stayed in the ugly stage much longer than anticipated and was just starting to come out of at by the end of this video. So, no, this painting is not finished.
I started the painting by coating my canvas with liquin and then a coat of liquid white over the area where the sky will be.
The overall color of the painting will be a very muted yellow hue. In the next video I will be adding some glazing and contrast to it. At this point, it still needs to serious help. No worries, we will get there.
The main colors I used was Indian yellow and yellow ochre for the sky and the yellow ochre and Paynes gray for the foliage. I will mix my own black for the foreground because as you will see, the black out of the tube is not neutral and has a red/ purple hue to it. Not at all what I wanted.
This painting was based off of the study I created in my last video. Here is the link to that.

I hope you go check it out to see how close (or not) I came to success.
Thanks for joining me for this video.
I'll see you next time.
