Meet Helen! In this video, we'll learn about her experience with perimenopause. At the age of 50, Helen encountered her first symptom while driving - a hot flash. Trying to remove her winter jacket, she couldn't figure out what was happening and wondered if she was getting sick.
By the time Helen turned 55, she noticed other symptoms like sudden anger, anxiety, and increased emotional sensitivity. Helen also realized that her body was also going through significant changes, including more soreness. Through her research on menopause, Helen learned that the decline in estrogen really affects the body. This realization prompted her to take immediate action in taking care of herself by examining her diet, alcohol intake, and incorporating weight training into her exercise regimen.
Helen made health and wellness a top priority. As part of her self-care journey, she decided to switch to a no-stress job. This allows her to have more time for her loved ones, including her husband, daughter, dog, and most importantly, herself.
