Here we have my buddy, Mr. Smith, aka Captn' Processor, working on a good sized Englemann Spruce at around 4000'. He is using an insane-o-ized ms461 Stihl sporting his own "special" grind chain. Actually does well, considering that he is self taught in both the falling and grinding aspects. Seen here utilizing one of my little tricks for checking the initial start of movement - the ax in the back cut in this instance. Or, it is very hand when it's windy to tell what is happening in the top of the tree. Especially important the taller the trees get...........
Mr. Smith is (a bit of a perfectionist) an excellent mechanic and processor operator and has the aptitude (trainable) to be a good stump maker if that was desired.
We were out, trying to have a little "phun", on a snow day expedition taking out the remaining oversized trees on this 80 acre heavy thinning unit. Hopefully some fun was had.......
I am currently available for port work. If you are interested, shoot me an email.
