Thanks all for comments! Nowadays the car is running fine (it takes less time to start ;) ), and I drive it weekly only for fun, these old cars are very nice and lovely, driving is so different and relaxing... I love it !

I had one of these many years ago when I was at Uni. It was an utterly crap car to drive, but it sure was tough - it just would not die. Liverpool to Plymouth in 3 3/4 hours is not bad for an old junker. Incredibly noisy engines too. Perfect student car....

Justin Daley Mine died in 93 a 85 1.3 LX from the last batch before they built the 309 at Ryton. Traded it in for a 306, looked tidy, but the garage scrapped it when they found serious body rot were water had increased around the rear struts after a botch repair having been rear ended. It was my third one, and they suffered from tin worm, but still a soft spot as I learnt to drive on them, and they saved needing to go to the gym thanks to the steering that managed to be so low geared yet heavy.
