Rodyle has 70000 HP. He deals massive damage in general but he has a weak point : almost all of his damage is non-elemental and the only ones that aren’t are easy enough to avoid, provided you’ve got enough space to do it. He has horizontal and vertical slashes, and the vertical one knocks down. Once he gets below half health, he’ll get Insanity force that is more scary than dangerous because the hitbox is quite small (the damage is very high though). He also has a few spells : he can cast Grave, Stalagmite, Gravity well and can also instantly cast Gravity well.
Rodyle is a bit of a pain for Raine because she doesn’t have a very good option to knock Rodyle back and she can’t jump over him…or so it seems at first. Raine can push Rodyle back by running into him when the boss doesn’t attack. Attacking the boss with basic attacks also work. I start with an Inspect magic and a Keenness to deal higher damage with my basic attacks with the deck brush I got because I restored Luin. My main way of attacking comes from basic attacks that I use to knock Rodyle back and the Holy lances I can use when I have enough space and/or the opportunity to cast.
First aid is a pretty good option to heal as well since I don’t really need much time to gain some health back.
Now for Rodyle’s moves, I can dodge all three of his spells by just running thanks to the Elven boots I chose to equip, and I’ll usually block his physical moves while I also equipped the protect ring. I can also dodge his vertical swing with a well-timed jump, just like with other characters, and if it hits me, I can usually get a free First aid.
I also chose to go with a Nimble mage and Hard hit EX skill combo. That part of the battle is a bit easier imo but the next part is a bit harder since Concentrate would be very good for it.
Speaking of the next part, you have to fight three dragons after defeating Rodyle. Each of them has 16000 HP and basically the same moves as the baby dragons you fight in dragon’s nest. The differences are that there are three of them instead of two (but they have less health) and you also have more options in terms of regen.
The dragons could be pretty bad to fight but Raine fortunately is close to getting into overlimit so I only need to hit the dragons a few times and use a Sacred light. Two Rays later and a dragon is down. The other two only need a few staff attacks to finish them and it is done.
All in all I thought this battle would be a bit harder than it actually was. However I’m pretty close to some fights I’m already dreading…
