I think Jay Chou is a perfect example of the Chinese culture. =)

I love Jay. He is like a hundreds millionaire and he still the same taking care of his love ones. Your mom took care of you when you were baby, so you take care of your mom when she is old. That's the asian way.

Living with your ma isn't wrong, only for the Americans. For Asian it's actually respect because it shows they you're taking care of your ma especially if you're an only child like Jay Chou.

its so nice that he ahs a family that he wants to be around for the rest of his life. I think its great that he reflects the ideas of tradition and family so well. But i also feel that moving from your family isnt a bad thing either. Its a matter of personal perspective. And leaving your family isnt just a western activity, there are plenty of cultures in Europe that do that as well.

You're a wealthy single guy, and u left your mum alone and move out 1000miles away to live a wonderful bachelor life. How come? Dont you remember who brought you to this world and who raised you up and keep you warm and pay your bills and take you to ur education and made you become who you are today? Cant you buy a bigger House for your own space? how much "SPACE" you need? what is "SPACE"? LOLOL

The interviewer's question about that Chou still lives with his mom is silly and reflects only a kind of Western judgment.

that was kinda ignorant of her to ask about why he'd still like to live with him mum even if he got married. asians really do make money to be able to take care of their parents since our parents take care of us until whatever age we want! not like her who was probably kicked out once she turned 18

@laoshapigou But... it was helpful for me. (U_U) I'm American so it was a question I'd ask. This is CNN after all, lol... an American program. Of course it's going to reflect a Western perspective. It's really cool to see Jay Chou say things like that, parents are really overlooked in Western countries.

interviewer's questions about him living with mother is just kinda ignorant and judgmental. it is soo true about asian culture and other cultures that we take care of our parents as they get old where as some cultures it is ok to take them to senior housing and its not frowned upon. not that i'm judging but it just the difference in our cultures. btw, his sincere good nature, how he treats people and his views on family etc makes him look super attractive to me right now.
