Flamingo, a monumental work comprised of five panels, was commissioned by Mr. Stanley Marcus in 1970 for the opening of his new Neiman Marcus Bal Harbor retail store. In 1990 the suite was reinstalled in Neiman Marcus’ newly designed Washington DC ‘Mazza Gallerie’ store and, in 2019, Flamingo was moved once again, this time to celebrate the new flagship store opening in New York City in the newly developed Hudson Yards complex.
