As a coloured person watching this, knowing so many people don't realise that the people struggling alongside them are not their enemy but instead the enemy is the people who impose the systems of oppression under which they suffer, hurts my soul. Divided we beg, united we bargain.

I respect both of use 🙏🏽 I just feel like this should have been a conversation rather than constant attacking and defending. The knowledge and the experience both of u have can educate both parts of the community. I understand that we have our preset heuristics and our biases. However, having this type of conversation should be not to prove points or to box people in a corner or even point fingers. This is an amazing can of worms that was open between the communities and should be addressed not to gooi anyone under the bus but to let everyone understand that this is how it is in our communities and this is how we actually live and how we feel. I believe that the two of uce can educate us alot on this matter by using ur Platform to actually allow a conversation instead of starting a disliking between two communities. Help us unite and help us learn from each other. Yet again I really respect both of u ouens 🙏🏽 God bless

Yes the colonisers divided Africans and further divided us by using tribalism, imagine how much damage has been done to those who were taught to deny parts of their identity. It's not only happening in the coloured community it is happening worldwide. The subject here is black and coloured unity. Africans needs to unite, it is then that we will see how powerful we are. There is so much love and unity amongst brown people I speak as a Xhosa referring to all the none whites as brown. It is when we fight amongst each other that I feel we are delaying our progress and giving the enemy exactly what they want. Wake up African child, you are standing on rich land and foreigners get to enjoy it while you are fighting amongst each other.

This conversation needs to happen with a mediator who is not part of the conversation because the topic was all over the place, and Darren was not listening to understand. Darren was evading answering questions by asking questions, this is a conversational technique to make it seem as though the other person is conceding their point. All the while, making the other guy seem to be hating black people. Which ,he does not, he may have stereotypes about certain black people(he has interacted with) in impoverished areas, but he is not saying all black people are terrible people etc. Also, the first topic was about damaging infrastructure, which is a crime and should be called a crime, Darren was not at all admitting that it was a crime to damage infrastructure. The other guy at least admitted when he was incorrect. Darren was trying to have a political debate while the other guy was trying to have an honest conversation. Thus proving the other guys point about Darren being manipulative. Btw I came to watch this from an interview I saw with Darren in it where I thought what he was saying was interesting. I don't know the other guy from a bar of soap.

@@fabiancarter7864 my brother, as a response to a question on joining the CCC. Darren advocated for unity between black and coloured Africans in Cape Town instead. Could he have made use of a better combination of words to relay his message? Maybe. However, equality between black and coloured Africans was and is the essence of his message. Nothing else. And I say this again, The Gentle Brother is smart but just misinformed. He is speaking from experience which does not necessarily reflect the lived reality of the Cape Black African. For example there is no free water or electricity in Gugulethu. With regards to religion...my religion teaches us that a white person is not better than a black person, and a black person is not better than a white person. What makes a person better than the next...is his God consciousness. With regards to wealth...we should seek our sustenance, but sustenance is decreed by God, meaning we will only get what God puts out for us. The moment we attach our success to our efforts, it goes one of two ways...if we successful, we become arrogant. The flip side is if we don't succeed, we become depressed. But if we attach our sustenance to God, we will become humble in our wealth, as we realize that God can remove it as quick as it was given to us. The flip side is if we don't succeed, we become grateful for whatever we have, little or a lot
