Low iron does affect your mood and your brain feels lazy. My mood dropped when I found out I had low iron. When I correted it my good mood returned yet no one mentions your mood being affected. I think docs who does conventional medicine and alternative go outside what is considered the normal numbers.

I’ve started taking Floravital the iron drink and started with eggs and some lamb. I don’t feel that is enough and prob an infusion is needed. Anyways I’ll ask GP tomorrow. Many thanks again. Thank you for bringing awareness to this very important matter. Like you, for the past 5 years I'd been feeling exhausted (no energy in the morning), hair loss, brittle nails, anxiety/depression, had three panic attacks back-to-back, pain, muscle cramps, heart palpitations, constant headaches, dizziness, brain fog... I kept going to the doctor and she kept brushing it off, saying it was signs of aging... (I'm 37 as I write this). The pandemic only made things worse, and I kept checking with doctors, she put me on Lexapro, which only made things worse for me. So I stopped after only two weeks. There had to be a different way. Finally, earlier this year, I found a nutritionist who checked my B12 (through Organic Acids Test, not serum B12), full iron panel, Vitamin D, and full thyroid panel. I'm deficient in all and also B1. I have gut issues from having had a stressful job/career in the past, which I believe contributed to these deficiencies. We've already started a protocol to help me heal with regular B12 methylcobalamin injections and proper supplementation for iron, vitamin d, folate, etc. (I may need an iron infusion later. He'll let me know if I do). I know it will take time to reverse these deficiencies and start feeling like an actual human being again, but for the first time I feel hopeful and finally feel like it was not just "all in my head". Mental health is so important and I wish doctors would realize that an anti-depressant/anti-anxiety pill may not always be the best solution. Or the only solution. They should first check these levels, all the ones you mention, and thyroid as well. And change the current ranges because they're seriously ridiculous! Anyway, again, thank you for all the work you're doing to make doctors/media/people aware of this. Stay well and greetings from California!

@@bigbrainhub Hi Luke. I'm still not well but much much better from the time I wrote this message five months ago. I was in a very dark place then. I do have more energy and my anxiety has decreased. I feel more stable emotionally, though I still have mood swings around my period. The neuropathy and constant vertigo are gone too. Still struggling with sleep. I can hear you... Have you spoken to a nutritionist and/or naturopath? I think getting all these markers tested might help and they could help you with the right approach for you. The one thing I've learned is that we become so disconnected from our bodies that this is our body's way of screaming for care and attention. I've had to make a complete lifestyle change to start recovering. I wish you well and I hope you can get the right professional help to recover. I know it feels like hell... Take care!

Hello Sally, my GP wrote to me last week to tell me my B12 is very low and my vitamin D is borderline so she has started me on medication and will review in 3 months. I have Crohns disease and I have had a large amount of my bowel removed and it's due to my lack of bowel that my B12 is so low and also my vit D. I also have a number of other autoimmune diseases that have left me wheelchair/bedbound including a very rare form of Arthritis, so I battle chronic pain and fatigue every day so having very very low B12 and vit D has made me feel like I have NO life to live anymore. I'm so glad that you are well and truly on the mend now Sally xxx

This actually means that you will probably be very deficient in both. For a GP to day deficiency you are at the bottom end as they dont have great guidelines to go off. This is what we are trying to change. Are you on instagram? If so, I can private message you on there and go through what I have learnt from the top professionals, so that you are equipped buly the right information when you are seeing these guys and you can track and read your own blood results. A lot of auto immune diseases are because we mal absorb, therefore we are deficient. Most people are deficient in vit d. If you are deficient in vit d then there is a high percentage that you are b12 deficient aswell. This is because your body needs vit d to be able to absorb b12. Both these deficiencies are dreadful and give you awful side effects. Both giving problems with joints and b12 with the nerves aswell. Please write back with your instagram and I'll private message you on there. Xxx

Now, I find it difficult to sleep-in and want to get out of bed in the morning. I assumed I had chronic fatigue or something. In Australia, we consider iron deficiency as ferritin of 30 or below, even if you aren’t anaemic. Doctors like people to be at, at least 50 (this is too low but seems better than the UK). I also think the GP I have been seeing for the last few years has a interest in women’s health, so got on to it. I had been taking iron tablets and my iron wasn’t improving, so my OBGYN referred me for an iron infusion. Also, thanks so much for the email address. Sent The Iron Clinic my bloods and apparently my B12 is low! I wish I lived in London so I could use the clinic xx

@@91mezz Australia is far more advanced on this than we are in the UK. Not one person I've sent to the doctors has been confirmed with low Iron deficiency whatever their levels!!! It's shocking!!!! Some people are like me and are severely deficient in the single figures and nothing is being done. As for B12 I'm now at 2000, I'm looking after that aswell. I have injections with methylcobalamin 5mg and I take the B12 spray from Holland and Barrett everyday, apart from when I have the injection. Folate (b9) is very important and gives with B12. Please buy some of that aswell to take. You can buy that from AMAZON. Dont buy folic acid which is the synthetic version of folate, it's not as good. Everyone should be on vitamin D3 aswell, you body cannot absorb b12 without vitamin d. I take the spray of vit D3 again from Holland and Barrett. I hope that helps. I've become someone I no longer recognise, always angry and irritable, depressed and just feel awful. I got a phone call yesterday to go to the hospital immediately for an iron infusion as my haemoglobin was 7.8 (I asked what my ferritin was as I was leaving and was told it was 3).I've had infusions in the past but due to very heavy periods my levels always fall back down. I'm glad that this personality change isn't just down to me being a terrible person. I've suffered with this since high school and I'm now in my 30s. Hopefully the damage done is not irreversible. Itll makecall the difference. No idea where you live but there is a woman that I can put you in touch with in Leeds. Methylcobalamin 5mg is the best b12. You can get hydroxycobalamin 1mg, this is what your G⁰P surgery would give and some places but it's the synthetic cheaper version. Keep taking the b12 spray everyday and make sure you dont ice do the iron. 65mg everyother day on am empty stomach with vitamin c and no caffeine for two hours before or after. You need to be taking vitamin c everyday. There is a vit D3 spray in Holland and Barrett that is brilliant. Spray k2 should be taken aswell, but only if you are not on blood thinners already. Magnesium is good to take everyday aswell. When taking b12 you also need to take folate, you can buy this on AMAZON. Folate is b9. Holland and Barrett have half price sale online. Xxxxx

Interesting that you mention sertraline. I gave in and got some today off the GP. I've been feeling pretty low for months and just couldn't carry on like that. However, i'm not a fan of meds so was deliberating whether to take them. I was sat in bed and felt so drained that I thought 'oh, I wonder if I'm iron deficient and could it be causing depression?' Anyway, i started to research it and found out that yes, it certainly could be causing it. I've been vegan then vegetarian for months and I think that has caused the issue. Anyway, i'm going to see if taking iron helps before taking the sertraline. Just makes you wonder how many people are given drugs rather than iron! Thanks for posting the video 😊👍

Iron deficiency causes depression, anxiety and panic attacks. So does low vitamin d, low folate and low b12 . Please get your levels checked. Sertraline is an SSRI which is a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor. Which basically mean it decreases your homocystein and lets your serotonin rise. Serum homocystein is what causes depression when it increases, it increases with deficiencies and stress. Please follow my step by step guide, get checked and send bloods to the iron clinic. You must get those 6 things checked. Please please please do it. Xxxxx

When I was pregnant my ob told me my iron was very low so she prescribed me iron pills and well I would eat poorly too and now my baby is about to be a year this month and I started feeling bad No appetite , anxiety , I cry a lot , angry fustrated , cold hands ,shaking, cold feet, fast heart rate , forgetting things , brain fog , it’s so ugly and now I’m wondering if my iron is still low most likely it is ! I seen you’re video and I went to buy multi vitamins right away , because what if it’s my iron it could be true because I have all those symptoms you mentioned. .tomorow their doing blood work on me and idk why I have a feeling their going to tell me my iron is low and if they do then maybe that’s what’s causing my anxiety ? You're welcome. Let me know how you get on. Iron infusion is definitely the best at that level. You maybe ill from it, but only for a few days, but it kicks in quicker. Tablets could take 12 months at that low level of ferritin. Plus if you take iron tablets don't over dose it. The BMJ which is what your doctor should be reading says no.more than 64mg every other day of iorn tablets. Taken in a morning on an empty stomach with vit c. Take any more than that and you over dose the system, making rhe hepicidin rise and then you don't absorb it but it upsets the tummy. Xxxx

Hi don’t know if you’ll see this as you’ve posted it awhile back but I was diagnosed on April 25th 2022 with my hemoglobin being low after I drank an energy drink which ended up causing me to have shortness of breath and thinking I was having an aniexty/panic attack until I went to the hospital as it really scared me and was told my iron was low but I also had a baby 6 days before on (18th April 2022) which I lost up 400l of blood during a C-section so that could of triggered it more as I already felt abit down 2days after I had my baby anyway, I was also diagnosed with being anemic at 28weeks pregnant and was only put on ferrous sulfate for just over a week which wouldn’t of helped the situation in that short time but I’ve been on ferrous fumarate for 3weeks now so just seeing if this helps how long was you on low iron tablets for until you felt better?

Am wondering what of those nutrients effect reading on a oximater (Hg,MCV,iron,B12...) Have read on B12 oil website that iron needs B12 which needs B2 which needs minerals. Also have read after research as to why my B12 labs are high but feel better taking B12 ( Methyl B12 makes me anxious tho and B3 is supposed to help there), that many B12 analyzers use antibodies and if the person also has those antibodies, results are skewed!! It listed best labs are urine MMA (seems better info to get OAT which has MMA in it). Have tried folic acid tablet yrs ago and it gave me a very painful canker sore tongue, so eating greens seems to get my folate for me. Also my gentics for B12 is higher labs but they are inactive form(wonder how to activate it, I looked up on 23andme test results and Snpedia.

Yes, your iron is low, haemoglobin is not where they should be looking, it's ferritin. Low ferritin can cause heart palpitations. May I suggest you ask him or her to try with a natural product first such as iron rather than a synthetic medication that could cause other side effects and be on long term because the (maybe) cause of the heart palpitations, which could be the route cause, hasn't be addressed? The best solution is to ask to be referred to a haematologist, they specialise in this area. GP'S do a good job, but don't specialise and as I've learnt have little training in iron, not their fault however.

I have become a bed bound nd I can’t have a normal day without feeling the extreme fatigue, chest pain, dizziness..ext. they even trying to convince me to have ablation to fix this palpitation!!. I already was suffering with anxiety, panic attacks and depression back then. And I was already taking Sertraline. The IV iron infusions cause increased anxiety, headache, fatigue, palpitations, and just feeling terrible. I did only 2 out of 3 infusions because I was so scared of the side effect. My ferritin level went up so the doctor agreed we could skip the third infusion. I had been feeling pretty good until recently. A little bit of anxiety off and on around my periods which by the way are super heavy! But mostly good and I figured it was the Sertraline helping. Hello I'm sorry to hear this, you are as low as I was. It will take possible 10 to 12 months on tablets to get your levels up. Its impossible to happen in weeks. I went straight for an iron infusion which took 9 weeks to kick in for me. Remember no more than 65mg of iron every other day on an empty stomach with vitamin C. If yiu take more you overload your body, effect absorbtion and also irritate the tummy especially over the oeriod of time youll need to take them for. Folate b9 (synthetic version of Folic acid) is not your iron. Folate, b12 and iron are what makes up your red blood cells of your hemoglobin. Vit d, ferritin, b12 and b9 are linked. It seems if one goes, they all do eventually if not treated. X

@@irenelynette3845 I'm so pleased to hear this and that you've had one. I was tested for being early peri menopausal with iron deficiency. The Doctors shouldn't be looking you haemoglobin for iron deficiency. This should always be detected through the ferritin levels. Aneamia is the end of the road and some people don't show anaemia, like me. Iron deficiency Anaemia could possibly be a thing of rhe past, except in exceptional circumstances in some people. This could be the case if Doctors look at ferritin because that's where it all starts. Optimal level is 100 ng/L. But of course it will be a lot higher for you after an iron infusion. You also need to check our folate, vit d and b12 as they are all connected. I've weaned myself off sertraline After 4 months of the infusion. Obviously this needs to be checked over and done qith your Doctor. I'm not medically trained, but I bet your anxiety is down to this like mine was. It comes with side effects coming off the ani depressants, but I didn't want to be reliant on them for life and I wanted to see if it was the Iron deficiency. Low and behold it was and I'm off all medication. I'm not saying you have to do this, but letting you know what I did. Obviously this is your choice, talk it through through your Doctor. Xxxz
