I noticed the lighting in this episode. Quite a few of the scenes were darker lit than usual, particularly scenes involving Tam Elbrun.

LaForge is my hero. I’ve spent the last 6 years studying Psychology. That means 6 years of psychobabble and I still have to look it up and practice saying it. Le Var Burton does this with just normal rehearsals. Incredible actor.

Yet another awesome show! Keep 'em coming 😊

I think it's less about finding an individual's thoughts, but more about the intensity. Lets say you can hear all the voices on the romulan ship. Most of it will blend together like white noise, but "raise shields, fire phasers" spoken more loudly will stand out.
@montanawardog
Great review of this episode I've always found interesting, someone always looking for the Tin Man, cuz he's got heart!! The FFA was solid in their opinions and backed them up, some of that I hadn't thought about and other parts I had. ONE LOVE
@awilliams1701
I'm looking it up. There was an extra betazoid in Menage a trois, night tremors, the drumhead, and eye of the beholder. I believe there was an unnamed one in counterpoint. I want to say they named her in the game. Jurot. So you missed a few, but they are mostly background characters.
@nightdragon8364
You guys HAVE to get Levar Burton as a guest, I believe he would be surprised but also touched by your praise for him, especially the techno-babble part. Get Denise Crosby to help to get him on there, someone with connections. You must get him.
@SquadraCorse
Sonya Gomez returns in Lower Decks "First First Contact".

On one hand I love this episode. I think the idea of a lifeform like that is beautiful. (although not as much with species 8472 lol). I can totally relate to Tam. I'm not comfortable around people. If I'm in a group of people in too small an area I feel overwhelmed and get headaches. But.........a huge fear of mine is if I'm in line....what if that dude is a telepath. The idea of people reading my mind scares the crap out of me.
@awilliams1701
re-calibrate the intermix regulator.....I don't know if that's the line or not, but it makes perfect sense to me. It's taking power out of the warp core and making it available to the impulse engines. I know all the basic engineering stuff about starships. I may not know what a gyrodyne relay is, but I know you don't want them to get depolarized.

Yes!
@wwrk25
My eyes hurt each time I watch this episode from his contact lens
@awilliams1701
range is probably inverse squared of the intensity. That's how most wave forms are. Radiation, gravity, magnatism, etc....
@LHGII
Loooll C.L reaction after dude said " I like extra P on my peanut butter and jelly sandwich....
@awilliams1701
"to hell of with the limits" reminds me of the DS9 pilot. O'Brian did the same thing, but the computer was like........ummmmmm no I won't let you! LMAO
@awilliams1701
I actually have techobabble from TMP memorized.

They don't say ESP, but there is an anime that just had a new season not that long ago. It's one of my favorites. A Certain Scientific Railgun. It's an anime about espers. The main character in that one can manipulate electricity. There are 2 other related anime. A Certain Scientific Accelerator (he deals with vectors) and A Certain Magical Index (instead of an esper she's a magician (sort of) that knows over 100,000 grimwoirs). So it's not as common as it once was, but it's still a thing. I believe Index (the original anime) started in 2011. And Index's recent season was 2019, accerator in 2020, and railgun in 2021. I THINK.
@awilliams1701
yeah. Just like Malissa mentioned, if I'm around people too much I feel like my batteries are drained. I have to recharge. Yeah I really relate to Tam in this episode.
@TheTuubster
I get some Roddenberry vibes from Chuck A. His way of talking reminds me of him.
@awilliams1701
It's wierd seeing Tam's actor now. He looks sooooooooooo much younger here than he does in buffy and that's like less than 10 years later.
