I drum barefoot too for the longest time but just recently switched to water shoes they are slim fitting tight and feel like I'm not wearing anything at all and no slip when you start to sweat after long sessions.

Hey man! 4 years later... what's your verdict? Better than Speed Cobra? If you have moved on to a new pedal, what is it and why? Thanks!
@antdrum8820

Hey :) My verdict is if I had had the double pedal Speed cobra already, I would not have bothered getting the Dyna-Sync. I have now tried the Trick Pro V1pedals (both the direct-drive and the chain versions) and the DW 9000 (chain). The Trick pedals are cool, and very lightweight, and very fast...but overall, I think I prefer the slightly heavier weight of the DW and the Dyna-Sync. out of all the pedals I have tried, including my own Dyna-Sync, I think I would go for the DW 9000, probably with extended footboard. I will keep the Dyna-Sync for now, as it is still a really great pedal, but at some point I will go DW... unless something better comes out! :)

So, as you showed, the Dyna Sync is a long board as well, since it has the same footboard length as the Speed Cobra...Interesting

Yes, I always liked the speed cobra, so in terms of length this felt familiar, although I have had other issues getting the overall feel to where I want it to be

I can’t make the two pedals feel the same… I even added a weight on the right beater to make it similar to the left one (it seems too much heavier compared to the right one)…

hmm...for me personally I found that it was my feet that were different, so even if the pedals were set up the exactly the same, the left pedal felt heavier to me. So what I did was adjust them so they were different. Then my feet felt the same when playing.

Looks to me that the left pedal can't be setup as a single pedal..I see there is no place for spring assembly on it. :-( Too bad..especially for us players with two kick setup.

Can we remove one of the springs and connect it to the other pedal. Is the remaining share of the tie rod enough for this? I want to use both single and double

Sorry for the years slow reply! :) The felt beaters sound and feel fine to me. Im not sure how light they are in comparison to others... I vary the feeling of lightness with the length of the beater rod. It would be interesting to do a Felt V plastic beater comparison.

Congrats. Are you going to do a review-demo video? Where I live I would have to pay up front and order it. I am going to try it for sure, yet I would feel kinda bad if I Did not like it and got a refund. $700 is a good amount of money, and the store could be stuck with that pedal for ages.

If I get time yes I will review, really busy at the moment. But as a quick text review.. it was a lot of time and a bit frustrating, to get the pedal into exactly the right set-up for me, and its still not perfect. Its very good, but not where I want it to be yet. I may even try the trick dominator instead to see the difference.

were you able to get a more comfy feel or did you go back to the speed cobra?
@antdrum8820

@@larrytate1657 Sorry for the late reply. I think i'm going to go back to the (new version) speed cobra. I feel that for me personally the little bit of slack I get in a chain drive means I can bounce it better than direct drive. I tried the Trick Pro1 direct drive and Trick chain drive side by side in a shop, also a DW 9000 chain drive. The Trick pedals were lovely, and super light, but the chain felt a bit flimsy to me. The DW felt solid. Both chain drives I felt that could bounce a tiny bit better than the direct drive. At some point I will see if I can do a video where I compare all of these together.

I cant find any reviews. If you extend the direct drive all the way out it rubs agaisnt the drum head. At the end of the pedal motion when your foot is all the way down on the pedal the beater hardly extends past the 180 degree point. Its end of range motion stops at north (most kick pedals usually into the bass drum a little). The drum clamp isn't the best. I am going to give it a week as of right now I am very disappointed. However, I need to play with the settings.
@antdrum8820

I will see if I have time to do a review soon. You can adjust all the things you are talking about. It depends on the angle of the drum head too. Mine doesn't touch even when fully out. The beater angle can be adjusted, so it will go past 180. I have no thoughts on the clamp. Yes play with the settings. I found that it took me several hours of playing and careful measured adjusting to find a setting that I was very happy with. It was a bit frustrating, but now its fine. Having said that I still haven't found a 'perfect' set-up yet. But it is still better than any other pedal I have played. Though I have not played the Trick Dominator yet, but I want to.

@@larrytate1657 it's been almost a year now. Demon drive ended up being just fine. I can literally do everything I need to with it. If I could do it all over again I would of picked up a Trick pedal or checked out axis. I dont see any of my metal heros playing the demon drive....like not a single one... Hi Sorry for the delay in response. It is a very good pedal....but only once I spent the time and effort to find a set-up that works for me. It was good out of the box, but not exactly what I wanted, and so I spent many hours adjusting and playing before I found what works for me. There are lots of adjustments, and they all affect each other. It was a bit frustrating to do it, but now I am happy. It is the best pedal I have played. However....it is not absolutely 'perfect' for me yet. I might try the Trick Dominator to see how that feels.
@frodowatt4272

They don't seem to be worth what there asking for them in my opinion. The beaters are only felt, the pedals are noisy compared to trick dominaters( which are cheaper) and there are less adjustments. Plus they didn't state weather the parts are machined or di-cast.

Thanks, I didn't know about the Trick Dominator, and I am now considering looking at that. I like the Dyna-Sync, but I am not yet totally satisfied with it. It has been a long time trying to get my perfect settings/set-up. It is a very good pedal, but it is not perfect for me (yet). So I will try out the dominator too.

Very over priced for what they are. It’s basically a speed cobra with a direct link instead of chain and cam. How does that justify a $300 price increase over the speed cobra. Hate when companies do stuff like this. Very DWish of them.

If they have an upgraded drive shaft like the new Yamaha pedal has or trick and pearl demons have maybe I could see the price hike. But it’s same drive shaft.

@@larrytate1657 Sorry for the late reply. Yes agreed. And I checked the parts catalogue - most of which are identical to the new speed cobra HP910LWN, yet the dyna-sync is £200 pounds more in uk. Money is not the issue for me, but it is cheeky of Tama to do that. I looked into buying the few speed cobra parts that are different and swapping over, but its not worth the bother. For me I am thinking of selling this and going back to the new Speed Cobra. Or perhaps the DW9000. I tried the Trick Pro1V and liked both the direct drive, and the chain version, but they are very light, and the chain seemed flimsy to me.The Dyna Sync is a lovely pedal, but for me the slight slack/freeplay you get on a chain helps me to do double bounces a bit better. It's just personal preference I guess.
