Every single clip I've seen of Japanese Millionaire has a contestant needing to use a life line for a REALLY easy question

Because the ACTUALLY easy questions (where the contestant didn’t use a Lifeline) get edited out into the transitions, unlike the other versions

The thing with the Big Ben question is that considering the name is in English, London automatically becomes the obvious answer even if you've never heard of it.

A disturbing amount of people in Japan are unaware that the UK is an English speaking country.

Nah! She was actually was acting like a total diva at the time but believe me when it came time for the OhRanger ep. in Gokaiger she basically begged to the producers to take her back in her old role

Well, thats interesting. She was in the US for the World series of Poker in 2005, and she played OhPink/Momo in Choriki Sentai Ohranger in 1995 (Apparently, she HATED it.....)

@wiiplayer9revisited Well, Tamao-chan must have changed her attitude about it, since she recently reappeared as Momo Maruo in episode 31 of Gokaiger.

Nup, she was a Diva!. but you know things do change and I think it shows since even if she begged to be let back into the show she was actually quite humble I guess

With my limited knowledge of Japanese: 1) DIdn't get, because it's I've never been to Japan during New Year's 2) I understood they were looking for a kind of fruit, but, wow the word for 'citrus' isn't exactly one you learn early. 3) I knew what they were asking, but the answers in katakana I couldn't read out fast enough. Had to be quiz, though, if I had paused the video to think about it. 4) They were looking for the age of someone but again an easy question in Japan everyone knows. 5) This one I easily got 6) I knew the answer to this one because I remembered the formula n*(n+1)/2 to add up numbers 1 to n. For example 10(10+1)/2 = 55. But you can tell she was adding them up in her head one by one. Good thing she got it right. 7) I understood this as what constellation in the northern sky that has 7 stars. I knew that as the Big Bear or what we call the Big Dipper but I see the Japanese would call it a bear. Been to Japan 7 times, never there long enough for the language to truly sink in. I was surprised they even had that game show over there, when it came randomly up in my KZitem feed (the random videos they give you, thinking you might like)
Really? I thought she might've mellowed out and learned to appreciate her time on the show. Who knows how she feels about Ohranger? lol

Remember, many Japanese people barely know basic English words, and some of them can’t tell two Western European languages apart, much like some Brits wouldn’t know how Japanese, Chinese, and Korean use different alphabets (and which is which).

@@cmyk8964 It feels akin to a westerner not knowing that the Great Wall of China is in China, but yeah, I get it. As an American, I've seen plenty of videos of Americans being shown a blank map of the world and asking them to point to America, and a lot of them don't know; they point to Russia (because it's the biggest), etc. I get it, but usually, I would assume some level of knowledge if you are a certain type of person and go on that type of show. Bad assumption, I guess.
