Because it has multiple layers of syncopated rhythms with varying articulations- short separated notes followed by long connected ones. The synth on the left is ever so quiet forming a less noticeable but powerful foundation, the bass guitar doubles as another melodic voicing, the vocoder effect is EVEN better when sung over block chords, and then this is played over the last syncopated hook of the out-tro. Also they don't follow a verse-chorus-verse that mostly all band follow, making the flow more organic and catches the listeners ears as it appears it's unfolding naturally.

iNK You do realise that, whilst Kevin Parker said he wasn't particularly influenced by The Beatles, he admitted in several interviews that, whilst listening back to his albums, he could hear what people making the comparison meant. Also Sean Lennon informed Parker that he sounded just like his Dad singing. As Kevin Parker said in an interview with Fairfax media: "I was speaking to Sean Lennon and he told me I sound like his dad. So I guess if anyone’s going to tell me I sound like John Lennon I guess he’s the one with some sort of authority on it". The one bit I would disagree with is that this sounds more psychedelic than their earlier stuff. Whilst it still has psychedelic undertones, it seems more commercial and electronic-sounding.

Lyrics It's always around me, all this noise But not nearly as loud as the voice saying "Let it happen, let it happen (It's gonna feel so good) Just let it happen, let it happen" All this running around Trying to cover my shadow An ocean growing inside All the others seem shallow All this running around Bearing down on my shoulders I can hear an alarm Must be a warning I heard about a whirlwind that's coming 'round It's gonna carry off all that isn't bound And when it happens, when it happens (I'm gonna be holding on) So let it happen, let it happen All this running around I can't fight it much longer Something's trying to get out And it's never been closer If my ticker fails Make up some other story And if I never come back Tell my mother I'm sorry I will not vanish and you will not scare me Try to get through it, try to bounce to it All the while thinking I might as well do it They be lovin' someone and I'm not that stupid Take the next ticket to take the next train Why would I do it? And you wanna think that I will not vanish and you will not scare me Try to get through it, try to bounce to it All the while thinking I might as well do it They be lovin' someone and I'm not that stupid Take the next ticket to take the next train Why would I do it? And you wanna think that I will not vanish and you will not scare me Try to get through it, try to bounce to it All the while thinking I might as well do it They be lovin' someone and I'm not that stupid Take the next ticket to take the next train Why would I do it? And you wanna think that I will not vanish and you will not scare me Try to get through it, try to bounce to it All the while thinking I might as well do it They be lovin' someone and I'm not that stupid Take the next ticket to take the next train Why would I do it? And you wanna think that Oh, maybe I was ready all along Oh, maybe I was ready all along Oh, maybe all I wanted was the sound Oh but maybe I was ready all along

playthegamelike it sounds like he is saying some different lyrics in this live version, but these are the lyrics from the CDQ of the song. i will not vanish, you will not scare me try to get through it, try to bounce to it you were not thinking that i would not do it they be lovin' someone and i'm not that stupid take the next ticket to get the next train why would i do it? and you want to think that

dogcrocs It might sound like actual lyrics (because some of that is actual words), but Kevin said himself on his Reddit AMA that fans shouldn't bother trying to figure it out, since most of it is indeed gibberish.
