I finally had the opportunity to record something in this amazing room with amazing acoustics. And even more amazingly, the didge I am playing is freshly made by myself :).
A short story about this didgeridoo: It is made out of a pinetree that I found on a beach in Normandy. I saw one odd and nice looking branch and immediately saw the didgeridoo in it. So me and my father-in-law cut the branch and stored it for a year. Out of another branch on this very tree I made a small didgeridoo for my son last year and already learned a bit about working wiht pine wood. So this year I was all pumped up and ready to finally make this monster of a didgeridoo. It originally was 2,30 m long, but I had to cut quite a bit to make it playable and now it is 1,90 m long and plays a very bassy B. I could not be happier with it, it turned out great. Since it is a "beach didgeridoo", I also added a few seashells on it to give it character. I will post a few photos soon on my Instagram (@nicolautundleise)
I hope you enjoy this video, which was actually recorded right before I played a sound bath in this very room.
