Sometimes the most obscure moments in history are the most interesting. Battenberg is not on top of anyone's "famous racing towns" list, in fact racing there has nearly been forgotten in living memory. But for a short time in the 1950s Battenberg and 7.5 miles of beautiful roads nearby were home to motorcycle grand prix'. The latest in the line of immaculate circuits from Fat Alfie, Battenberg offers a little bit of everything and is an excellent venue for a race. Although never holding car races, and certainly nothing in the 1930s, Battenberg serves as a fitting backdrop for muscling around interwar Grand Prix vehicles. A true representation of how wild motorsports used to be.
