I'm very chuffed with you comments, Cosmo - you are very kind my friend! It was a laugh to film - I had to cut a lot out of the stream crossing - a real shame because I lost some really good footage - trouble was we gained a bit of an audience, there were lots of people cheering and clapping as it crossed the stream! Very nice, but it didn't really fit the video! Yes, the Bruiser is a real beauty, and the 3 speed box is a cool addition, a bit linited in top gear because it is only rear-wheel-drive in 3rd! Thanks for watching and I hope you have a lovely weekend - I'm opening a nice cool beer as we speak! :-)

Thanks Stephen! Yeah - I want one too! The Bruiser is such a fantastic Tamiya - The chassis and most of the running gear are metal construction, excellent quality and a very satisfying build, according to my friend Rob. The trouble is, it is very expensive, but well worth the money if you can afford it. Luckily for me Rob lets me drive it - great fun changing gear with it's 3 speed gearbox - a first for me on an RC car. Like a 3 speed gearbox, mostly metal construction and a very detailed body and interior -- I can see why it is one of your favourites. Jijii265´s right - it does look very convincing. I think it´s the low-down camera angles. Thank you so much for you kind words Del - I'm flattered! It is a great feeling when somebody appreciates your work, isn't it? I do think hard about the overall look of each video, and give each a lot of thought before filming. I get a lot of inspiration from other creators work - I've been learning from some of yours today! As for the locations - I live in the Black Country, near Birmingham, as you can imagine it's very industrialised, but we have a lot of beautiful parks (that our kids today seldom use, mores the pity) but for an old fart like me they are a haven for video-making, you would never guess from the videos, I like to think! Thanks again mate - truly appreciated :-)

Wow what a gorgeous truck of Rob's and lovely video making from yourself as ever. I really lusted after the original Tamiya Toyota Hilux as a boy and I still do. Looking at videos of the old one it does look a bit limited in terms of suspension travel and tyre grip. The big tyres on Rob's seem to be much more capable. I'm guessing that a much cheaper CC-01 with decent tyres can keep up with this off road?
@MarkBryanRC
6 жыл бұрын
Hi Pete - nice to read you my friend - hope you have been having a nice time on your little break - you deserve it pal! That Bruiser sure is a beauty, isn't it? As with all of Robs builds, he pays a lot of attention to detail and it really pays off. The truck is so capable off road mate - I don't know if its the little mods, or just the tyres, but the Bruiser can go places my CC-01 cant follow - I think it's a lot down to the weight of the thing - at least twice, maybe 3x the weight of the Freeder - and this gives it awesome traction on loose ground as it digs those tyres in! Thanks for the lovely comment mate, hope things are good down South :-)
@PeteWylieRC

Mark Bryan RC yeah I had a good break thanks. Went to Benidorm which wasn't what you'd call classy but we had a really decent hotel with a 'club' room which gave us access to various child free areas including restaurant, rooftop pool and a help yourself bar in a lounge area. Much San Miguel was had and a few late nights in town with some 'interesting' entertainment. Anyway back to the grind of trying to get the house sorted. Basically all that has happened since I went away is that a bloke with a mop came round and smeared the soot around the walls and ceiling. Great! I was expecting a team of people with chemicals and machines but no. Anyway I'm sure it will get sorted in the end. Might be after we've both had a nervous breakdown. Anyway back to the RC. Yes I did wonder if the weight of the Bruiser would help and obviously it does from what you're saying. I know that some people put lead weights in the tyres which is a good idea. I see that they have brought out a Landrover on a CC-01. I think I'll get another Landfreeder though as I like the Fall Guy truck style. Anyway I'm off to do a bit more on my spreadsheet of lost RCs for the insurance. Its taking bloody ages but I've got to do it because even I don't know how much they were all worth unless I price up all the components. It's thousands anyway. Going to enjoy a beer too to take away the pain. Laters mate 😀

Glad too hear you had a bit of a break - sounds like a nice one too! Sorry about the house though - I hope the insurance company comes good. @@MarkBryanRC well, i know these Bruisers/clones like business; Ive owned one since 1995, and at stock height; the front wheels hit the tires if youre turning and going over bumps, simaltaniously. And this one almost looks a bit lower than stock. Having the lowest part of the body above the highest part of the tires, was the only way i could get mine to stop rubbing completely; so i just naturally assumed these would rub too, since its the same model, basically.
