Some time around 7-8 months earlier I jump-shifted to Sony and Tamron, got the 28-75 and 70-180 f/2.8, later I bought the 17-28 f/2.8 and have to say I'm satisfied with the results. I haven't tried a GM lens before, so can't compare with the AF speed. at this point I wouldn't change to the G2 or even the 35-150 most probably even though I like the concept of f/2 35mm is really promising but as a climbing photographer I do need that extra reach (sometimes 180 seems not enough, so maybe later I will get something like a 150-600 or 200-600 for sports and wildlife)..
@napster9ch

I had the 28-75 and the 17-28 from Tamron as well and switched both for the GM ones from Sony. In point of sharpness, both Tamron and GM were on par. The AF from the GM lenses work a little bit faster but definitely not a game changer. And then there is the weight, the GM lenses are so heavy, especially if go on a long hike. But the softness of the bokeh and the flexibility of the zoom ranges (24 mm instead of 28 mm on the wider side and 35 mm instead of 28 mm from the wideangle zoom) are the reasons I switched to the GM lenses.

But the G2 wasn't available so I picked up the Sigma 28-70 then sold it after picking up the G2. Technically the G2 is supposed to be sharper, especially in the corners, and quicker and I suppose it is but the difference among all three 28-70/75 2.8 lenses are at best small. If you want an improvement consider fast primes, then you'll see a difference.
