Glad you liked the video! There’re quite a few 8” systems out there without keyboards…this can really make it easier for people to get them going again.

What do you mean you wouldn't be recognized? Id totally recognize you, but as Martin Freeman, you really look like him.

Awesome Model 12, Model 16 and DT-100 terminal and great video demonstrating these beautiful machines! My family had a TRS-80 model 1 as a kid and I currently own a TRS-80 model 3 and this was awesome to see! Very strange to see a modern keyboard working on these old but beautiful Tandy machines!

Thanks for watching! I’ve been lucky enough to be able to get these things running and mostly keep them that way. I’ve actually got a Model I that doesn’t work…it’s on the list…and a Model 3 that is my main TRS-80 gaming rig. It’s a great system for sure.

The VCF presentation was great! You were in turbo mode which was pretty funny. The pressures of trying to hit a timeline, eh?

Thank you! Yeah, once I had the wrong stop time in my head, there was no CTRL-Z-ing it. But it was great practice for next time and people like it anyway. A win for sure.

Glad to see they have the keyboard adapter. I see a lot of model 12 and 16 for sale but no keyboard

Agreed, this is a big help for getting these keyboardless systems back in the game.

1. Very cool! That's nice to know so when I finally DO get to my Model 2, there is an alternative for the keyboard as my original will OBVIOUSLY need redoing... 2. I also LOVE terminals! I really want to get my hands on a DEC VT-220, and I'm still trying to find information on the terminals used in Radio Shack stores which looked like they were in Tandy PC cases with no drives of course, and I still think they were WS xxxx if my 4th/5th grade memory is correct. 3. 23:11 love some of your creative file names ;)

The TE keyboard adapter is SLICK. I definitely recommend it. When you get your Model II going, be sure to pick one up. As for the terminals: I’ve always been a sucker for a good terminal. And for the RS store systems (WS-1000), I’d probably sell a kidney for one 🤣 OK, maybe not quite, but…. As to file names, I like to leave little nuggets for people to find in videos. 😁

For a short time I was obsessed with the Agvision, Model 16, multiplexor box and the videotex experiment they did with the local newspaper there in TX. Interesting to note there was an option to download a binary image to run on the remote terminal from the videotex host. I guess maybe this would have made it possible to run some text based games via modem download.

I think that was possible - running 6809-based code on the Videotex. I always wanted a Videotex terminal...of course, it's one of the many things I passed on when they were all over eBay for low prices because I "already had too much". That was about 15 computers ago. :) I would like to play with the VIS software for the 16, which powered some online services that used those systems, but it's way down the list at this point.

@@TJBChris I tried installing the software via emulator. It appeared to use specially edited codes in SCRIPSIT or something but at the time the multiplexor box seemed very elusive.

I have a DT-100 and a Wyse-50, and my favorite feature on both is that BADASS key click! Those really are excellent terminals. I don't use the DT-100 too much because it's effectively brand new, but the Wyse stays connected to one of my Linux boxes where I have getty and such running.

I really enjoy mine. The click is the cherry on top! I’ve wanted one forever, and felt like getting one was going to be a long shot. Fortunately I was wrong. 😀.

I love that DCC deck! Had one myself until a hurricane destroyed it. And it was great to meet and film you at VCFSW. Hope you'll come again next year!

Someday the DCC will get full coverage on the channel. I was fascinated by it when it came out, but it was out of reach for me until well after the death of DCC. It was also great to meet you as well! VCFSW was a blast and I’m hoping to make it out again.
