Thanks Ilan once again. As a Jew and an Israeli passport holder I feel it is incumbent to uphold truth in historical research however painful it is and however it impacts a sense of Jewish or Israeli identity. I was not even born at the time but I cringe in shame. I have left Israel because I cannot bear to live in a place in which more than half the population are being oppressed and exploited and in which a large size of the Jewish community live in utter ignorance of their past and even dare to celebrate that ignorance! Too much already!

You are a rare voice for the best of Jewish tradition---its conscience, and the world needs a lot more of it.

As a person, I fell sorry for the Israeli's new generation, because of the way they have been brainwashed, having to defend something that is not defendable in modern society, Truth and reconciliation, a democratic country, one person, one vote, could be the way forward.

This is a question to Ilan Pape. Sorry for a question that may sound outside of your field but do you think that the repetition of violent action from Palestinians, however high the cost for civilian Palestinians, may bring the Israeli "mentality" to undetstand that the overall violence-based policy of Israel regarding the "Palestinian question" will never work?

Palestinian Jews, Christian, Muslims, Samaritans, Druze are all not “one land two people”. They are all one land one people. People been moving between the religions in this land. The other people is the settler colonial European origin Zionists Jewish settlers. Mizrahi are essentially part of the Palestinian fabric until before the settlers brought the Zionism.

My gift this Christmas, 10 copies of the Ten Myths of Israel (which is a light read for the beginner) to be distributed to ten ignorant people in Turtle Island (the settlers call North America including the US and Canada)...They are already ordered. They will take their time because this book is so much in demand now that bookshops are not able to keep up with the demand apparently

Fantastic talk! Thank you so much! At around 19:00 min, Pappé mentioned the paper "The Tantura Massacre, 22-23 May 1948", published in the Journal of Palestine Studies, Vol.30, No.3 (Spring 2001), pp.5-18. The first name of the author is Mustafa. I was able to find the paper, download it, and print it. However, I wasn't able to find anywhere the full name of the author. Can anyone help me?

After encountering Ilan Pappe’s lectures and panel discussions on these subjects, I could sure aspire to be on his staff, or a student. By now I feel I owe significant tuition to the guy. I promise I’ll start a savings account to get all your books! Might take awhile cuz David Ray Griffin is also prolific on different but related scholarship. Also, Avi’s “very long book” is probably not cheap. And in addition, there’s abu Sitta and many others I now know about because of you. And if can get through Ronen Bergmann’s book without paying any money... I have high regard for Ronen Berelovich’s documentary, which also opened my eyes to how much and for how long I was deceived about all this Holy Land sanctimony and hypocrisy. Please accept me into the Ilan Pappe Project Group.

52:00 Professor Pappe mentions cases of survivors of massacres unwilling to relate their experiences, for fear of retributions from authorities. Can citizens be stripped of citizenship and deported, for example, for being charged with offenses?

From what I understand, the brigade that did the massacre just before this destroyed the village of Salama or Abu Sadiq and afterwards they lost a lot of soliders in the Bin Nun operation where the Israelis lost many trying to take Latrun which they took in 1967.
