I keep on walking Taraz streets.
Abay Avenue is an avenue with a total length of about 9.4 km, located in the southeastern part of the city of Taraz. Named after the famous Kazakh poet-educator Abai Kunanbaev.
Significant buildings include Schools, kindergartens, Zhambyl regional akimat, but mostly there are residential buildings on both sides of the street that is incredibly cozy despite being one of the main city arteries.
On 13.54 you can see Abay Monument - it is a monument dedicated to the great kazakh poet, composer and theologian philosopher. He was also a cultural reformer toward European and Russian cultures on the basis of enlightened Islam. Abai was born in Karauyl village in Chingiz volost of Semipalatinsk uyezd of the Russian Empire (this is now in Abay District of East Kazakhstan). Abai's main contribution to Kazakh culture and folklore lies in his poetry, which expresses great nationalism and grew out of Kazakh folk culture. Before him, most Kazakh poetry was oral, echoing the nomadic habits of the people of the Kazakh steppes.
Also you can find a monument of Agadil Sukhanbayev here. He was the Red Army soldier of the Workers 'and Peasants' Red Army, participant in the Great Patriotic War, Hero of the Soviet Union (1945). Agadil Sukhambaev was born on December 16, 1920 in the village of Karasu (now the Bayzak district of the Zhambyl region of Kazakhstan). After graduating from ten grades of school, he worked on a collective farm. In 1940, Sukhambaev was called to serve in the Workers 'and Peasants' Red Army. Since October 1941 - on the fronts of the Great Patriotic War.
By July 1944, the Red Army soldier Agadil Sukhambaev commanded a detachment of the 628th Infantry Regiment of the 174th Infantry Division of the 31st Army of the 3rd Belorussian Front. He distinguished himself during the liberation of Poland. On July 31, 1944, at the critical moment of the battle near the village of Strsheltsovizna, 24 kilometers northeast of the city of Avgustov, Sukhambaev closed the embrasure of a German machine gun, at the cost of his life contributing to the successful actions of his comrades. He was buried in the city of Druskininkai in Lithuania and posthumously awarded by the title of Hero of the Soviet Union.
