Hi, This is an Outdoor ball. I have been playing basketball for 45 years. It is probably the best Outdoors basketball i have ever play with,... Since you are very good technical reviewing basketballs.... i would like you to play with it outdoors and let me know your thoughts> What i like about it is: (Always outdoors of course) Usually outdoors and outdoor balls are always failing in dribble, handling and specially grip. This ball strong points are exactly that: True dribbling and bouncing. good grip and control. Also another very strong point,... is because of the materials it cleans it self very easy with every bounce... so it is practically never getting dirty,... which results in a very good grip almost 100% of the time. Its got a good balance for shooting and it does not bounce out out the rim like crazy, Like a rubber ball our a indoor ball would do outside.

Great that you are also doing the Tarmaks. Decathlon is only 5 min drive from me in Melbourne Australia. Their BT900x felt like a deep channel designed Evolution but maybe even softer. Was pretty unique when I touched it recently and for $75 AUD ($48USD) I might try as well

@EverythingBasketballs

The grippiness might be a short term thing if use it outdoor. But I wouldn’t expect much out of the ball when it come to outdoor used. Typically the ball would last 2 to 3 years but it’s also depend on the surface play on and how often you play.

There's new BT500X LTD version, black&white (but its not the old 500X Grip), it retails at 35$ in Europe and at that price level it has no competition. Spaldings and Wilsons below 50$ are all rubber, models with similiar feeling cost 70-90$ . For me, its closer to old TF1000 than 500XFIBA version (two tone orange one), feels softer, yet still sticky as hell. Main difference to my old TF1000 is that it becomes a little slippery with moist hands, but that can wear of after few plays. All and all, Tarmak is making some pretty decent balls lately, just when Spalding and Molten decided to trash what worked so good over the years (TF750 out of market, TF1000 changed, GG7X replaced by x000 slippery series).

Looks like the ones with "GRIP" and "Control" marks under BT500/BT500X are the previous season models. This year grip version models have only "BT500X" mark and there are two types, two tone orange "FIBA approved" and black-white and black-red LTD. For me LTD has better feeling than orange FIBA version, little softer with somehow better grip. There were also old BT500X GRIP all black version and BT500 Control in the store and I must say, new LTD beats all the other BT500s, even new BT500X FIBA. I thought FIBA requires orange color and it's only that, but it is not, LTD panels are just different, bettter. Today I've played for the first time with this ball and it feels awesome. I could compare it to also brand new Spalding TF500Excel, Wilson 3x3 and Molten BG3800. Wilson and Molten feel like cheap crap, Spalding is actually quite nice, for me halfway between BT500X FIBA and LTD, little harder and stifer. And it retails at ~47$, discounted at 40$, Tarmak is still cheaper at retail price, in 2-3 months we will be bale to get them for around 25$. LTD's only drawback is quite strong bounce if inflated to recommended 9psi, I went lower and it's ok, but can feel fast and aggresive to people used to "flat" and slow models. Few times I had to chase it in dribble, it's not for lazy players ;) To sum up - new LTD is really outstanding ball in its price range, I would call it outdoor version of Spalding TF1000ZK PRO. If You like the old Spalding, this ball willbe perfect for outside play for You. Thanks for the videos, You helped a lot.

@@The-Mr-Sz Seems like Tarmaks hardly ever get discounted in Europe. At least the most wanted don't. Excel and LTD are about the same price over here right now, ca. 34€ or 38$. Would you still prefer the Tarmak (only played on rubber court)?
@The-Mr-Sz

@@GoMantaGo Maybe that depends on store location/policy. Both that are in my town are stocked with full range of Tarmaks. I own 3 balls right now. Old white-red Spalding TF1000, new Spalding TF1000 Euroleague and black-white Tarmak BT500X LTD. Tarmak is my go to for outdoors (tartan/rubber court), Eurolueage for the gym.

i'm not sure how to give you the best answer. imma try though. currently, i play with tarmak bt500grip black color, spalding phantom, and wilson fiba 3x3 official game. and for nice to touch that would be bt500 grip. for value and the cheapest is spalding phantom. for over all performance is wilson fiba 3x3. However all of them have some negative to it. for bt500grip, the grip feel a little slippery and dusty after a few days of using it. the splading phantom feels a little lighter than the rest and also feels a little rubbery. and for wilson fiba 3x3 feels smaller than the rest because the official size is 6 and not 7 like the other balls.

Considering the bt900 but its price is higher or similar with a molten bg4500 here, and most reviews say new moltens now are pretty slippery and you need to break it in. I'm choosing between these balls, tarmak bt500/x, bt900/x, molten bg3800/4000/4500, spalding zi/o excel, premier excel, and tacksoft. Most of them are out of stock here and might just wait for restocks and maybe on sale. Love from the Philippines bro!

I payed 25euro for it, its the price. You can't find any better ball out their under 30 dollars that is better then the BT500, mostly 25 dollar and under are bad bouncing kids balls or for poor people that are dumb to not put 5 or 10 dollars more for much better (like the BT500)
