Larry, I think you have hit upon a good machine for the deeper targets and especially in the highly mineralized soils. I am going to DIV for the first time this November and my I wish I had one of those detectors to take with me.

Yeah, I'm impressed with this detector, but it doesn't look like I'm going to get to detect much for a while. I have eye surgery tomorrow for a detached retina that they found yesterday during a routine eye exam. Even if everything goes well, they say it may be 4-8 weeks before I'm able to do any digging. It seems like it never ends. I must have had too many birthdays. lol Thanks for watching; I'll be back at it soon; hopefully.

Yep we're getting older. It might slow us down, but it's not going to stop us. I've had surgery for a detached macular, and cateract surgery. Also, in 2018 I was diagnosed with Lymphoma, from agent orange. I told my buddies that I was going to hunt if I had to lay down and dig. While I was taking kemo, that's what I had to do. lol. Not sure about that detector yet. That's a lot of money. You take care and do what the Dr says. Eyes. Very important. God Bless Pap

Nice digs! Tarsacci goes very deep in bad ground and very light in weight. Some don’t take this detector seriously because it is not advertised like other detectors and only sold through a few dealers. They are made in central California. I

I just found your channel by watching the Jam videos. I love bluegrass and metal detecting too. I was able to go to the jam back in 2018. Glad to see your still keeping busy. I learned two things watching this video. 1. The MDT 8000 is a deep seeking detector. 2. You're gonna need a bigger shovel. 😂 I really enjoyed watching this one. I have a feeling I'll be buying one soon exclusively for my CW sites. Looking forward to the next video with your new toy.

Do some research and let me know what you think. Be sure to watch my next video; I think you will like it. If you are interested in a Tarsacci, this one is up for sale. I just had eye surgery surgery and I may be out of detecting for a while. I only bought it in February and hate to even think about selling it; especially at a loss, but I may have to. Of course a little later on I'm sure I'll replace it. Let me know if you may be interested. Good luck to you Pap and God bless.

The next video is on the same CW site as this with a little bit better outcome. I had planned to make a few videos comparing the Tarsacci to other detectors but I've not been able. My torn meniscus in both knees kept me from being able to carry both detectors and shovel on the long walk. Now I found out I have a detached retina in my right eye and I'm scheduled for surgery in the morning. They've already told be that even if things go well it will be 4-8 weeks before I'll be able to do any digging. I'm at risk of losing that eye if I'm not careful. It looks like I may have to sell several detectors to help with medical expenses. Thanks so much for watching. I'll be back in full force soon. I do have footage to make at least 6-8 more videos.

I really like it, but I've not had much chance to use it. It's been one think after another. When I bought it, I ended up with torn meniscus in both knees and now that I'm ready to get back after it. I had to have eye surgery yesterday due to a detached retina. I may have to sell the Tarsacci to help pay for this since it may be a while before I can do much detecting. If I have to sell it at a loss, I'm sure I'll be replacing it when I can. Thanks for watching.

The verdict is still out. I did a little testing comparing it and the Equinox 800 plus the XP Deus II. Of course, I've not spent any other time on the XP Deus II so I'm sure I can improve what it showed me today. I love the concept of the Tarsacci, but I have a few concerns about some other stuff related to it. Hopefully, I'll be able to give you more details after I use it some more. Missing the past several months due to COVID and some other issues has put me behind. It will take me a while to get my energy back up. Thanks so much for watching.

Where you get that shovel
@SavingLocalHistory
3 жыл бұрын
I bought it at Lowe's. Item # 607322 Model # TRS-5CF-K 34330. I cut the blade of the shovel off and also cut some of the length to suit me. I then added the handle. The handle came off of an old shovel that a friend gave me years ago but I think you can buy the handles. I used it with just the long handle for a while, but decide to try this approach which I like much better. I may make another one and leave the tip just a little sharper than this one. This one works great in plowed fields, but not as well in the grass and weeds. I hope this helps and thanks for watching.

I experimented a lot but this is roughly what I used: Black Sand: Off. Salt: 17, Tracking: Off, Frequency: mostly 6.4, but I switched around, Threshold: -2, Disc: -10 but I tried 0 and -30 as well, Sens: 6-8, Ground Balanced at around 868 on this site, Volume: to suit my hearing, Mode: Desc & Mix. I'm still learning the machine. I hope to do a detailed video a little later when I recovery from recent eye surgery. Thanks for watching.

Yes, I've got steel toed boots, but I don't wear them metal detecting. I'm confused as to what you are trying to say or implying. If you watched the video, then you know that I found all the signals I got. This was basically the first time I had detected with the Tarsacci. I was on a very steep slope at the start of the video, I'm deaf in one ear and at that time both of my knees were in bad shape. I think I did very well with the Tarsacci considering my handicaps for that day. But, I can tell you a story of a friend I've got that dug a hole over 3 feet deep before he realized he was picking up the steel toes in his work boots. Thanks for watching.

Definitely no patent on wireless headphones 😂😂😂😂 I noticed you had to add a Garrett wireless device to it
@SavingLocalHistory
3 жыл бұрын
Yep. That was my very first complaint as well. You'd think that at nearly $1,800 with both coils that the Tarsacci, being the company's flagship detector, would have wireless technology. But I guess, in it's defense, that since it was mostly intended to be a beach/water detector that it didn't need it. Thus the extra nearly $150 for the Garrett Z-Lync. Now I have a nearly $2,000 detector. That's why you hear me occasionally say in the videos that I like the electronics but there's a lot of other design features, to borrow a line from Shania Twain, that don't impress me much. I'm still on the fence myself until I can do some head-to-head comparisons with a few other detectors. When I recover from this recent eye surgery, I intend to do just that. Thanks for watching.

@@SavingLocalHistory I actually crossed over from Whites to the Minelab 800. I had owned pretty much every detector they made till I took a chance and bought the Equinox. Turned around and sold all of my whites. Garrett bought Whites and all they could come up with was the crappy apex lol. I had no idea the Tarsacci cost that much. What’s the deepest coin you’ve dug with that thing
@SavingLocalHistory
3 жыл бұрын
I've not dug any coins. I've only got to detect with it 5 or 6 times due to the dry weather and my knee injuries. Just as quick as I got in shape to do some serious detecting, I found out I had a detached retina in my right eye. Surgery was a little over 4 weeks ago but I won't be able to detect much until this gas bubble they put in my eye goes away. I tried to detect the other day, but it's even hard to walk with my vision impaired; temporarily I hope. I'll get around to posting more soon. Thanks again for watching.
