It's amazing how those teensy-weensy gnats can nearly drive you crazy when you're trying to work outside. BTW, your open-faced pies look so delicious, and it really doesn't require much oven time, which I try to avoid in the heat of summer. Good luck to you and Mr Bucky on fighting those huge vines...it's always something!

Getting my morning fix of watching Miss Phyllis before I start sewing this morning. I love love this recipe and video this is on my menu list for this week, I am so amazed when you cook I see you have some of the same cooking utensils as I do I have that same pizza pan I know I have had it at least since my husband and I have been married and that is 43 years LOL I also have the veggie chopper I love it and use it every time I chop veggies and yes you need to just make sure the veggie you are dicing is in the chop area I would think the ones that have had problems have tried to chop out side that area. I also have the same little spoon rest and my Tupperware canisters are yellow but they still work and I just love them I know they are at least 40 years old I also inherited Momma Macie's tupperware and it was yellow so I have an abundance of them. I have the huge square keeper and I love it also the cake takers and pie taker and large round cup cake taker. Another favorite is my large bowl I think they called a pop corn bowl I have 2 and use those for canning and also when I cook my 50 pounds of chicken thighs from Aldi to can my dog food. I do save my bacon grease. I have a smaller little grease keeper it looks like a tea pot and has a strainer under the lid One thing I don't have to worry about is pie crust, I do love the premade and bought it before my son-in-law came around, now I never want for great crust I just call and say do you have any crust made up and he brings me a gallon bag of crust I just chop off a piece the size I need and roll it out, it keeps in the fridge I would say you could roll out and roll up in parchment paper or maybe waxed paper ( I have never used waxed paper but I just bought a roll) have it rolled out ahead it only takes a minute and I just roll out the size I need on my "old" tupperware sheet with a damp paper towel under it to keep it from sliding on my bar, I make my chicken pot pie in a large 13x9 baking dish, I love Aldi bone in thighs and I usually buy 10 packages when they are on sale for 69 cents a pound I use them for my dog food and also for us, I pre package them for us in pieces of 4 in a freezer bag. For the dogs I put them in a gallon freezer bag, I know it is not recommended you wash chicken, but I don't always follow the rules LOL I open the trays of chicken thighs, if it will be for my dog food I remove the skin at this point and discard it. (when I cook it I just put it in frozen with filtered water and 4 tablespoons of vinegar into my 2 huge electric roasters) I put them in my big tupperware bowl in the sink and then I spray them with white vinegar (I keep a large spray bottle of vinegar in the kitchen) then I put cold water in the bowl and soak a few minutes I only use filtered water in soaking and rinsing, then drain and rinse a couple more times then I transfer them to a colander in the other sink bowl to drain then pack and freeze, there is no vinegar left on the washed chicken, The vinegar used in cooking the chicken will help draw out the nutrients from the bone, I do clean my sink and counter with hot bleach and soap water after I am done with the chicken. Thanks again Miss Phyllis for making these videos it has def changed my life I had totally give up on cooking now I am revived LOL

I had decided not to get the Chop Wizard until I saw your video. Saw the Vidalia Chop Wizard Pro at a second hand store looked brand new $3.50 so I tried it. I love it, but it cuts a bit larger pieces. This had the cleaner brush which is a necessary part. Found the actual Chop Wizard with the smaller chop size and a 2nd the larger size (one in each batch). It was $4.50, but again looked brand new. Both work really well and I would buy them for the full price now that I have tried them

Hey Miss Phyllis! That looks great, the pie dinner saved me yet again this week. It's a very versatile dish for sure. I was wondering, peaches are coming into season here, well, the U.S. ones, but we will soon be flooded with our Niagara ones. With you being a neighbor to Georgia, you must have volumes of peach recipes. Pies, salsas, crumbles..it's all about peaches soon. The only thing is, we don't have peach jello here! At least not now, but maybe during peach season but I can't remember last time I saw it. Next time I'm down south I'm going to buy a case!

Hi Phyllis. I love your channel. I was watching your video on Number Two and you were talking about chicken breasts being tough. I have to tell you, I had the same issue. Hey Ms Phyllis liked your concept of this recipe but for myself I like a little acid if you like them try either grape tomatoes or sun dried tomatoes and pickled jalapeño just a suggestion God bless
@PhyllisStokes

My plan was to use some of the table grapes cut in half in the pie but when I looked for the grapes someone (not mentioning any names here) had eaten all the grapes. I also like something a little acidic in the pie with the chicken. Adding the cranberries to the ham pie in a previous video gave that little bit of acidity to the pie. You've got the right idea. Thanks.
