This TAS was primarily written by myself, squeali0, and truegen, with a number of notable sections improved or written by fishmcmuffins and Marlin (also, special thanks to Marlin for recording this video). It took us about a month to complete drafts of every level in the map-pack, and then another month or so to get to a point where we were happy to release a recording. There are, of course, still spots that are not as polished as they could be, and plenty of strats to be tested, but improvement slowed enough that an upload seemed warranted. Hopefully the hours and hours that went into producing this make themselves clear-it was not a small project.
To get into how this project affected me personally, it was a fantastic opportunity for me to develop my TASing skills. I feel like I know so much more about how to optimize Celeste TASes now than I did two months ago, and beyond that, I feel like it's given me a much better intuition for finding and implementing strats. It's hard to quantify, but I've definitely grown creatively in that regard and that's a very motivating thing. It feels like my vocabulary of movement has expanded, both in the tools I have to initially route a room, and then the skills to optimize it after the fact. And this makes that process of routing so much more fun, since I have more things to test, play around with, and combine. All of this is not to say that the whole process was smooth-far from it, in fact. A number of rooms in 9CC were incredibly frustrating to TAS, and there are a few screens across the map pack that still feel very much unsolved. But overall, it was a positive experience that I feel I got a lot out of, and the collaboration with the people I listed above was really fun.
If you read this far, thanks and have a nice day. I hope you enjoy the TAS :)
