I was really excited when I saw this as I'd been awaiting a TAS of this ever since I saw the one for Shining Force 2! 2hrs 24mins is obviously very well done compared to anything already existing, but when I saw in the description you thought there was a lot of room for improvement, I decided to actively watch and see if I could find any potential improvement areas. Thoughts and questions below: 27:52 There were several moments throughout like this one where I thought "was it really worth it to go for that guy?" due to the relatively low experience gain. Perhaps this was done to be safe and comfortably leveled by the end for this first pass run; I could only imagine how difficult it is to route this TAS and keep the party optimally leveled. 32:17 Why the long wait and then no double attack? Was it so Cray could get his double? 56:51 If you instead had Claude kill the rat fly to the left, could that have in addition triggered the other rat fly even further to the left to go after Claude and save some time? 1:04:57 If you moved to attack the skeleton from above, would the second brass gunner have still been drawn forward but since you're out of range you'd save an encounter? 1:22:51 Could've fired from one square further back? 1:24:56 I wonder if it's possible to manipulate Claude to a more forward starting position such that the deadly born could be killed on the 3rd turn instead of the 4th. Kinda like how RTA runners use Jogurt on 5-2 to spawn Balbaroy more forward in the original shining force. 2:12:06 This attack appears to be the last thing of substance Cray does in the run. Is it at all possible to kill him off at the end of this battle or is he just too strong? 2:17:03 How did you skip the experience gain message there? 2:20:40 Killing Claude saving time xD that's funny 2:23:56 Is it really not possible for Lug to pitch in and kill Woldol a turn earlier? I was wondering if giving Nick the sword from the left would get him just that much closer. Then, if he navigates around the left side of the hole, maybe he could lure the Taros away from budding up against Woldol's left side, and then Lug could sneak around and attack Woldol from the left. No idea if this could actually work.

Wow, you really should consider optimizing the TAS yourself, these are great ideas! I can't look into them right now (maybe one day), but it wouldn't surprise me if the answer is that you're right for most (if not all) of these things. I made the TAS very quickly with no real planning, just for some fun, so there'll be all sorts of ways to speed it up.
