The Tascam 688 has 8 individual outputs and you can use those to send your mix (post fader & post EQ) to 8 individual tracks in a D.A.W. linktr.ee/sleepingorchard This ultimately gives you the freedom to mix in more detail inside a computer after your initial session. (I also use this method to connect the 688 to a 2nd mixing desk).
If I ever bounce a mix this way, I still try and get the mix 99% finished on the tape machine itself and then use the D.A.W. to "clean up". Things like adding low/high pass filters, muting long pauses on certain tracks or automating what I would usually manually do during a final mix-down.
If you need to skip to a relevant part for you, here you go.
