Great presentation and great info as usual. I was really disappointed with the (RCA) unbalanced output on the DP-24. But your suggestion to run the signal through another board works perfect. I still have my Tascam M-3500 console and all of my outboard gear is still connected to it. Problem solved. Thanks so much. Your channel is the best on KZitem.

Can you hook mic pre amps to multi track recorders? And compressors? And pedals?

Very good presentation, as usual ! I've got a question - should you use an external preamp or you may rely on the internal preamps of the unit?

If can be of any help, I have recorded guitars on the 8th channel (Hi-z) and that gets you an amazingly powerful and clean signal. I have used also a cheap DI box (Pyle) for dynamic mics and it does the job just fine. The DP-24SD also gives you phantom power on all 8 channels, and they work great for condenser mics. In my experiencie, you don't need a pre-amplifier with the DP24SD. I'll suggest you to try without a pre-amp and see if you really need it.

Thanks for sharing your experience, it is appreciated. Also keep in mind that Hi-Z is designed for use with the direct connection of Guitars and Bass with passive pickups. Otherwise the brand recommends that function be turned off. This is where the preamp is recommended for recording acoustic guitars. 👍🏿

When recording acoustic guitars with a microphone, a preamp is recommended. This is because mic signals are weak, and preamps are designed to adjust these signals to line-level. Otherwise, DP-24's preamps are fine for most other recording applications. Thanks for watching. 👍🏿

Can you use a ribbon mic and condenser mic on the same group of 4 inputs without damaging the ribbon mic? I have been using a ribbon on one of the four on the left, and condenser on the right with phantom power cause I'm nervous. Thanks. -X

Can you suggest some EQ settings for country rock Music?
@PowercoatMusic
Жыл бұрын
That's difficult becuase it's so subjective. My best suggestion would be to pick a country song with the sound you want most. Then, spend time (using good headphones) playing with your EQ to try to match that sound and tone. That's what I do, and I hope that helps. Thanks for watching.
