I don't think this consoles going to do well. It's 2018 vibes. And what's with the price being $1800 above this typical hardware spec

I agree, but where did you come up with the $1800 figure? Curious to know what you are comparing it to.

@@DcSoundOp almost exact fpga processor as the SQ lineup. I do know allen and heath. Your getting ripped of by the displays. Idk bout you guy but if your to need a layout like that which I really theater based you need to add more integration with other companies. And I'm not even sure this is a plug in based mixer. Save the buck get a wing or sq5 for the price range. If you like to spend that amount. If better worth hitting up reverb for a used digico

Looks obvious that this is still being worked on I'm sure things will be straightened out once the mixer is released at least let's hope so I just don't understand the $10,000 price for the mixer and Stage box

If you're looking for pure quantity of features, these consoles probably won't make sense. Where they get the price is doing it all at 96kHz with high bit-rate processors. They are also a historically reliable Japanese brand, with an excellent reputation for service, support and using quality components in their gear. They also have a bit of history putting clunky Ui software in their mixers... so we'll see if they are able to improve this one as it ages. Thanks for the message!

I saw this console on some trade shows. I think the confusion with the layers comes from not seeing the physical console: since it has 16 faders, every layer has 16 channels on it. The console however has two displays, which display 8 channels each. And the software only seems to emulate only one display, hence 7 layers with 2x8 channels each. The software is still confusing anyways ;)

How did the console look & feel in person? For this kind of money, I'd expect it to be pretty nice, but it's hard to tell from the photos. The scribble strips look similar to what Yamaha uses in the photos.

@@DcSoundOp I didn't have a lot of time with it but the faders and the channel strips did indeed remind me of the Yamaha TF-Series. The potis seemed a little plastiky but I really need some more time with it to make a judgement.

@@herzogmedia Damn, I had hoping for closer to CL/QL quality for the prices they’re asking. Thanks for the info!

@@DcSoundOp might have been a preproduction model, so don't take this for a given. I hope to see it on another show in April.

No automixer?

I don't believe so on the version I looked at. Not sure what Mr. Dugan is charging for a license these days to bake in his tech, or if they'd have to roll their own, but I'm sure lots of folks will ask for it.

@@DcSoundOp Dugan is locked into Yamaha, but Behringer automixer solution is pretty good. One corporate/ panel discussion/roundtable gigs it's the tool I always use now.

This looks old and unintuitive. I fear this might be indicative of the console too.

Yeah, we'll have to see how the next few updates play out. The first version of everyone's control software is usually pretty rough, but once the consoles are really shipping there shouldn't be any excuses. Thanks for checking out the video.
