Love Tasha Tudor books. She was such an interesting woman. I have really gotten interested in going back to the old ways of growing, propagating, and gardening in general. Can’t wait to watch the video and would love you to show any tips on propagating cuttings if you do that. Mr Browns broom video was so inspiring the other day. Love you both to pieces. God bless you both. Your online friend. Lorri from AL

I have Tasha’s cookbook. Our daughter was introduced to Tasha Tudor children books when she was a little girl many years ago. She still has all her books. I came across columbine and forget-me-not seeds from Tasha’s home several years ago and ordered them. Though the forget-me-nots went by the wayside, the columbines come up every year. My daughter has Tasha’s videos. I read “T’was the Night Before Christmas” book illustrated by Tasha every Christmas. This was a treat to find since my daughter and I have always been Tasha Tudor fans.❤ Thank you!

I remember my Granny would make us apple dumplings. One day we begged her to make them, but we didn't have any apples and no way to go to the store, so she pulled out some apple sauce she had made and made dumplings with it. They were delicious! She always had a way of making everything taste good. Once she made us some taffy for a taffy pull and told us how they did it when she was young...if you had a sweetheart, you pulled taffy with them so you could touch hands. 😊 I miss her, but she's still lives in my heart 💕

My Dad was raised where these were a dinner. My Mom learned how to make them from my grandmother. She would boil the apples until tender. Place the apples on a cooling rack, leaving a few in the water for the sauce. Once her dough was made she’d put one half apple onto her dough square, flat side up, place a slab of butter in the cored out section, sprinkle with cinnamon sugar then close up the dough like an envelope. She’d then bake them and while they were baking she’d make the sauce with the boiling water that was used to cook the apples. She’d mix up a cornstarch slurry, mash up the apples that were left in the water and add a little sugar until it thickens up. Once the dumplings were done, place one in a bowl, pour some sauce on top with a little milk and we’d have a yummy dinner. It wasn’t until I was an adult that I found out these were really a dessert. Obviously I had a great childhood. 😊 Thank you for sharing this recipe, it brought back good memories. God bless you and Mr Brown love watching your channel.

Isn't it wonderful to be able to go back and watch over and over? I remember back when live TV was all we had and if a cook came on a show we had to write fast! If we missed it, we could usually send a dollar or so to the network, along with a SASE (self-addressed stamped envelope for all you youngins!) and they'd mail us a copy. I did this several times with Mr. Food..."Oooh, it's SO GOOD!" You have to love at least a few things about technology! 😊

Years ago I worked at a hospital that served apple dumplings in the cafeteria. They came in frozen and of course had to be baked. They were really good.
