March 12, 2024 MANHATTAN, New York - City and State officials unveil new law enforcement task force created to combat difficult to trace vehicles with paper plates and stolen plates or “ghost cars” that are being used to commit serious crimes along with avoiding tolls in New York City.
The press conference was held on the RFK Tri Boro Bridge Tuesday afternoon in NYC with Governor Kathy Hochul, New York City Mayor Eric Adams, New York City Police Department Commissioner Edward A. Caban, New York City Sheriff Anthony Miranda, and Metropolitan Transportation Authority Chair and CEO Janno Lieber all in attendance to announce the multi-agency city-state task force.
