Thank you so much for watching! If you would like to purchase any of these candies you find them all here at www.pd.net/ and check out the Lofty Pursuits KZitem channel if you want to see candy actually being made the old fashioned way! I have also put a more in-depth flavor profile for each of these candies entirely based on my own opinion in the description if you want to check that out!

Nice vid! Their first run of forbidden fruit actually looked like mini tide pods haha.

How long did you wait for your order

It came pretty fast if I remember correctly, definitely no longer than 2 weeks. I'm pretty sure it actually arrived sooner than the estimate they showed on the site when I was completing my order!

2 weeks is about right, most of the year. They back up around certain holidays, like christmas, thanksgiving, and Valentine's Day, and it takes a little longer to arrive at those times.

It's almost like a running joke on my channel at this point because these videos have shown me that I am really really bad at knife safety lol

I think the forbidden fruit is blackcurrant

Could be part of it! They tasted complex, so I think it's a mix of a couple different flavors but I could definitely be wrong hahaha

Greg used to have a video up about the original version of the "forbidden fruit" candies (which has since been taken down at the request of the manufacturer of Tide pods). Yes, they did actually look like little tide pods. It's been a while, but I don't think he ever released the exact flavors included in there. He also has a completely unrelated video talking about black currant being "the forbidden fruit," so named because while it has been popular in Europe for centuries it was illegal to grow black currants in this country for many years. Whether or not this means the black current flavor was used in his tide pod candy, I don't know. I've heard a lot of speculation about what goes in there. To me it tastes like mixed berries of some sort, with quite a bit of extra citric acid added.

In a good way or a bad way? I felt the price was perfectly reasonable for real handmade candy made in small batches. Like yeah I could run to the store right now and get a 1lb bag of hard candy for like 2 bucks but odds are I'm not going to have the exotic flavor selection Lofty Pursuits offer, nor will the candy taste as good since it's likely produces by the billions in a giant factory. I mean, I wouldn't be handing out this stuff for Halloween lol but as a slightly expensive treat for yourself I think it's fine

Yeah, having tried a few of Greg's candies, I can agree that these are fairly expensive for what you get. We're talking $35 a pound for hard candy, exclusive of shipping. That's a LOT, small batch or no. But I see it as a way to support the guy for producing entertaining videos and keeping alive the candymaking tradition. He's put a lot of money into that equipment.

I agree it’s expensive if you just look at it as candy. But when you couple it with the channel and videos, it’s well worth the experience. Watching the video of a given candy while you EAT that candy and learn history from Greg is worth $6 in my book any day. And it’s nice to support a small business owned by someone who loves what he does.
