This time, we would like to introduce you to Tateri Kojinsha, located in Nosakogawa Village, Yoshino District, Nara Prefecture.
This shrine is located at the top of Mt. Kojindake (1260m above sea level), which towers over the prefectural border with Wakayama Prefecture in the southern part of Nara Prefecture. Kojin, the god of fire and kama, is enshrined there.
The history of the shrine dates back to the Heian period, when ``Kobo Daishi Kukai'' drew and enshrined a statue of Kojin when he opened Mt. Koya. Since then, they have had a strong connection with Mt. Koya and have cherished it.
From the precincts, you can see the Omine Mountains, the highest mountain range in Nara Prefecture, and it is also known as a scenic spot for hoarfrost and a sea of clouds.
Located in the midst of nature, the approach to the main shrine is lined with over 150 torii gates, creating a sacred atmosphere.
Please be sure to visit this power spot that Nara Prefecture is proud of and is considered one of Japan's three major Kojin shrines.
