I think the decocking system on this gun is awesome, regardless of what some might say about it. For my hands at least, the Taurus/original Beretta 92 safety lever in terms of size, shape and location is about as close to perfect as it gets in terms of reach. I have a Regard MC Gen 3 and those safeties are simply too large IMO. 9:33 My *suspicion* for why the PT92s with rails won't fit in that TEGE holster (or Blackhawk SERPAs that will fit an M9A1, 92FS/M9, or M9A3) is that the trigger guard on the Taurus is slightly different, either too fat, or too thin where the internal mechanism needs to mate with it. Eyeballing the Taurus trigger guard to an M9 or 92FS it does look really close obviously, but I *think* the inside portion of the front of the trigger guard on the Taurus is a bit different. FWIW I had an older non-rail PT92 AFD that also would not fit in a Blackhawk SERPA for the M9/92FS, so my money would be on the trigger guards being very slightly different on the PT92s. I wonder why Beretta with the 92F/M9 made the bottom of the grip "flare out" to the front, instead of just leaving it straight all of the way down like on the Taurus and older Beretta 92s. I think the PT92s feel a little better in the hand compared to the Beretta, not sure why exactly. If you end up keeping this one, there is a TEGE/SERPA style retention holster made specifically for the PT92 with rail made by IMI Defense/ITAC. It will fit a railed PT92 or plain Jane M9, but will *not* fit an M9A1 or Girsan Regard MC with rail, as all of those will be much, much too tight a fit.

@@DCopp My first 9mm pistol back in the mid to late 1980s was a Taurus PT92AF. No telling how many rounds I put through that pistol. Came with wood slab grips that I changed out with Pachmayr rubber wrap around grips. Made a big difference. Very nice trigger. Mine had a button mag release, not heel. Fixed lanyard loop on the heel. Mine had no dust cover accessory rail or ambi decocker/manual safety. Just a standard left frame mounted manual safety. It had a really nice polished blued frame finish that I don't see on PT92s today. Today they have more of a matte blue or black finish. Other than those things its the same pistol. Thanks for sharing.

heads up some 17 round mags are a little tuff to load some only hold 16 like me you have to shorten the mag spring from the bottom done right it will hold 17 no problem PS only thing I do not like is the barrel sticking out I have them crowned to the slide and if you do not have the safety system you can change the hammer spring just like the beretta

any noticeable improvements compared to the older models? I've had a couple railed PT100s over the years, it was my first "modern" handgun back in 2015. The first one I never should have sold, the second one had part of the trigger bar shear off and kinda gummy controls, 3rd ones never been shot. The one you have looks like the finish is a little nicer and has a bit of a sheen compared to the older, flatter finish.

Ok to answer this, On the Taurus has a different style of a trigger bar, not interchangeable, the triggers on the Taurus is also different, the trigger is shorter on the Taurus, the sears are also totally different, the hammers are also different. So the Langdon Tactical trigger job in a bag will NOT work.

I have your gun.....lol.. I just received it in a trade. It’s my 3 rd one, I had a PT101 and a PT100, back in the mid 90’s. So I’m going to run this next to my M9A3, which I’m not expecting too much there. So you said that you put a set screw in the safety lock? What else did you do to the pistol? If you don’t mind me asking, because I am going run the crap out of this pistol. When I say I have that pistol; I really have it. I just traded for it yesterday.

@@DCopp Update on the pistol. Ok for those who would like to know about the the compatibility for changing parts from Beretta to Taurus. It would be easier just to say which part are; The springs are the barrel and the guide rod, that is it, and no the magazines are not interchangeable. so with that being said this is what I have done. Changed the hammer strut cap to a extra one I had from my Beretta, Wilson Combat spring kit,(carry and duty), 14# recoil spring and a 13# hammer spring, trigger spring, firing pin spring, and extractor spring. Polished all internals and the firing pin and the firing pin safety. To get the firing pin safety out you have to remove the rear sight,(like on the S&W M&P pistols). So I gutted the pistol cleaned it polished and resprung it. Now for the holsters. The Taurus trigger guard is a little thicker wide and length. Lights will work. They don’t butt up to trigger guard like they would on the Beretta, because of the way the trigger guard is cut more of a curve and thickness. I have wanted to do this on a Taurus pistol and now I have so now its time to find a new project.
