That's Japanese cedar tree. It grows straight and splits vertically, making it easy to process into boards, etc. It has high commercial value, so it was cultivated in large numbers in Japan in the past.

Thanks for the comment! Most of the trees are cedar. The history of Italy is very interesting and I love this country. I definitely hope to go there someday.
I wonder whether that large rock at 9:32 was part of a landslide? Facinating to wonder how it got there & how long ago!

Thanks for your comment! Japan is an earthquake-prone country, so perhaps that's why they came to their current location. In any case, it is interesting.
