I'm here, because I borrowed the entire season from the library. I have two daughters one 10, the other 13. And they love it. That just goes to show you that the writing is brilliant. My kids actually laugh out loud. I used to watch it what 30 years ago. And it's nice to enjoy it with them. We just finish The Wonder Years. They like that also. I'm a very lucky dad

terrific. I try not to "powerwatch" anything....I was born in 1963....recently re-watch the Mary Tyler Moore Show....partly since after MTM died IN January 2017, I saw a few clips from Entertainment Tonight and an hourlong ABC 20/20 which made me feel that, at a minimum, I should re-visit it....and perhaps repost some of my findings/opinions of it on FACEBOOK....or through email to select friends of mine. TAXI is definitely a favorite....but, as I recall, some of the more involved Andy Kaufman/Latka and Reverend Jim/Christopher Lloyd episodes seemed a bit draggy and involved. For your daughters....perhaps now or in another year or two, I strongly recommend the Mary Tyler Moore Show...and for comparison, perhaps episodes of the Dick Van Dyke Show. I can't think of a stronger role model...and her friendship's with both female and male co-workers, along with Rhoda and Phyllis....priceless. ALL THE BEST.

I met Rhea Perlman in the airport in Orlando. I snuck up behind her and called out, "Zina Sherman!". She turned around looked at me and said, "Boy, I haven't heard that name in a long time!". She gave me a kiss on the cheek, pre-covid. She was very sweet.

I was born in 78. This is my favorite show alongside the Simpsons. Taxi has something lacking from most shows, heart. Above all else this show was about laughs and humanity. I must confess Elaine was a childhood crush due to the Nick at Night re-runs. I watch the box set with my boys and they love it as much as I do.

I was born in the 1980s. But growing up i remember my grandmother watching this show among others. Which got me to watch and I loved it. Even at the age of 5 and up I would want to go to bed early to watch Nick at nite and they would play taxi. It was always my favorite next to welcome back kotter. What’s funny is even at that young of a age I understood the show. And I always loved that this show was always a little dirtier than the others. Shows aren’t and never will be what they used to be in the 50s/60s/70s/80s and hell even the 1990s.

I watched every episode in my teens. Took me about 10 yrs to see all. Taxi was so dam funny. I'm not a sit-com person at all. Since taxi and mash, i havent watched any for very long. TV became a comercialized frenzy that turned me off, sent me to the computer side.

The critical flaw in Taxi is portraying a boxer as an imbecile. Talking down to boxers and laughing at knockouts are equivalent to laughing at auto accidents. Those who do are very fickle. Boxing is the noblest of sports and Tony Danza should not be proud for playing such a role. Tony Banta’s character remaining witty while being an intellectual [as many pugilists are] with a decent career would have been suffice and not further damage the sports’ public perception. But, many do not comprehend that fistiana at its apex, is an infinite science and as brainy as performing surgery and or designing a submarine.
@OldManPaxusYT

I think you're probably taking things too seriously - it's a comedy... Having said that, you are, of course 100% right... Making boxers appear as simpletons or thugs is a cliche

Paxus My Position In Boxiana is a Doer’s role, not a talker. What I wrote is educational, not opinionated. And it is from a source that is Monumental to Boxiana in more ways than one, offering depth, clarity and purpose to the sport, pugilists and the audience. Hence, I’m not writing just to be writing.

Boxing takes training but you don't have to be book smart, nor does one actors role in a film or show representing all boxers. So he has the right to be proud of his role and there is no flaw in it. Boxers can have a variety of intellect. Billions of dollars over the years shows it made no damage to the sports public perception.
