If tonewood is all marketing BS than why do Hollowbody/semi-hollow body guitars exist? Since by the same logic, hollow body guitars shouldn't have much or any impact on sound/tone. And I'm asking this as a genuine question towards people that argue against tonewood.

10:00 100% , it ain't mojo, its just grime that as mentioned will not only make a fret job harder, is probably aiding corrosion and abrasion and shorter fret life

OK well I sure learned a lot during that episode! What a great guy. I'm biased ... finally invested in a higher end acoustic and it's a Taylor (517 in my case). Every Taylor I've ever played, across the range, have all been great guitars. Never played a bad one.

Oh…what? What special effects? Star Wars? I’m gonna be serious for a minute. Just barely 400 likes, and this video has been up for 10 days. Ya gotta cut the homey, cuddley, … I expected Andy Powers, my hero, to be taking tone wood. Come on! People know both of you guys. People love both of you guys. I love both of you guys. Take a closer look at what your intentions are. Do that. Move on. Save the other, quite lengthy, stories for the family barbecue. Good luck, Fellas! JJZ…(°¿.°`)

What you had to say about Adam Savage is how I felt about you. Seeing you talk about ADHD in a very real and raw manner helped me come to terms with my own struggles. I remember telling my girlfriend about how one of my favorite creators was just like me.

Ya’ll should name the studio Muscle Shulls. Not only as an obvious tribute the iconic Alabama studio, but also an acknowledgment of all the hard work (hence: muscle) it took to put the thing together. Plus it’s at Rhett’s house so…it’s “Shull’s”.

I’ve only played one Taylor. Disliked it a great deal. But…..it’s not really fair to judge a company on a base model. This was so informative. Will be giving Taylor a second look when I get a new acoustic.

I always love hearing the passionate "Makers" in the guitar industry talk. That's why all my favorite episodes of tone talk are the ones where they talk to other passionate builders like Mike Soldano, John Suhr, Steve Fryette, Lindy Fralin, Jon Cusack, or MJ from Seymour Duncan. Some of them are legends, and some of them are hardly known too. It's funny that the more you go down the acoustic rabbit hole you realize how complicated they are.
